Hotel La Nina||Check-in was friendly and professional. Be careful of the stairs as stairs off the street down (about 22 steps) to check-in with a looped rope for a railing, so be careful while carrying luggage as dangerous. Rooms 1,2,3,4 off breakfast area. Room 5 (junior suite with balcony) and 6 have a spiral type staircase down from the checking/ breakfast area again without railings, which is not good for carrying luggage. ||This hotel is 2 km outside of Amalfi, but Sita busses 5120, 5070, etc. stop in front of hotel 50 M to the right at the Frazone Lone bus stop right beside the cross walk. Download the schedule. Hotel side of road to take you into Amalfi for food, etc. and drop you off back on opposite side coming back from Amalfi and €1.50 if buy ticket at stores (on main road in Amalfi to right before going up to Piazza Duomo there is a book shop down past blue door) |Breakfast is good. The fresh croissants are amazing. You complete a card with a check list of breakfast items the day before with a chosen time. Items include plenty of coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, baked goods, meats, cheese and juice. The lady who does breakfast is friendly, kind, hard and working. There is one male who would smoke out the window and drop cigarette ash on the outside porch you were on, and also not helpful. ||This hotel is fairly clean, but black mold in ceiling areas needs attention. There is not a lot of space in the room but adequate. Get ready to crawl out of bed in the junior suite and stairs to the bathroom.Bed and pillows are comfortable. Plastic drinking cups in the room, wine cork remover but no wine glasses, but got some from the bar. There isn't a kettle in the room but they will provide tea for €4 I understand kettles were removed as somebody cooked noodles in the kettle. Not sure why other people have to be punished by the stupidity of a few. There is a safe with key in the room. The man who smokes out the breakfast room windows dropping ash on the balcony is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. ||The view is amazing and that's what you are paying for. ……location, location, location. Everywhere in the hotel appears to be near or below the lobby / check-in / breakfast room as it is a very small hotel of maybe 6 rooms, was noisy when...
Read moreThis hotel was perfect for our needs, with a 4 night stay in Amalfi at the end of a two week trip to Italy.||We booked the Superior Double Room with Sea View and were not disappointed. The room itself is comfortable but basic compared to the other hotels we had stayed in. That being said we have no real complaints about it. The only thing we would have liked is tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Our room had good aircon (despite some other reviews the contrary) and a well stocked mini bar. The room had fantastic views of the coastline and beach below. The room itself was clean, and the bathroom was also well maintained and clean. Extra pillows and blankets are provided too.||Overall the hotel staff were friendly, but it is true that the hotel itself does not offer a huge amount beyond the room and breakfast. There is no hotel bar or restaurant for example, so you’d need to go in to one of the nearby towns for that. We knew this going in to the stay, but on one night we didn’t feel like going out far so it would have been nice to have the option. The hotel is small though so not sure how well it would work.||We found breakfast to be good and adequate for what we wanted. It’s “continental” style with pastries, fruit, yoghurts, bread, cheeses and meats. You have to complete a breakfast order card the night before with what you’d like, but everything is ready on your table when you arrive in the morning. The views at breakfast are awesome. ||The only thing we found a little strange was the keys. You have one key for the room, and another for the external door to the hotel, which you have to swap between when coming and going. This felt a little outdated and convoluted, and could be solved by having keycards for everything. It was only a minor thing but easy to forget if you’re not used to it.||Parking is available nearly for €30 per day. Not cheap but again standard for Amalfi and not a lot of options elsewhere. ||Overall, we had a really great stay and would recommend this hotel...
Read moredo not stay at this hotel! when I arrived to this hotel on the side of a cliff with no sidewalks for safe walking I arrived to a locked door where I had to then call the owner on the phone (internationally) to unlock the door he knew I was at the top of the stairs but he did not come to help me with my suitcase after traveling eight hours on a redeye flight he made me lug my suitcase all the way down the stairs not once did he move to come and help me when I got there he was not friendly and made me feel extremely uncomfortable when I was given my room it was in the middle of the lobby with French doors and no privacy. my room had mold above the shower the sheets were not fresh and smelled bad they also felt like sandpaper there were decorative pillows on the bed that were not able to be sanitized. The AC did not work even on the highest setting it was so humid in there, the TV was only in Italian so not sure what use that is to me??? He then wanted me to leave my room key on a hook in the lobby that was easily accessible to anyone inside the hotel when leaving someone could have stole my psssport or other valuable belongings while I was away. I think I fell asleep for a few hours and when I woke up and realized that the lobby was dark and there was nobody around such as security or even a person in general my face immediately became flushed and my heart was racing here in this foreign country with nobody to even ask for help if needed, this was not the vacation that I imagined at all I did not even stay at this hotel one night I called up changed my flight and went home the same day but yet this guy wants to charge me for a week of staying at his hotel because there are no refunds I was not happy with my experience so why are you trying to charge me for something that I didn't even use because you are money hungry and greedy do not stay at this hotel when I do come back to Italy it will be nowhere...
