We liked the location, close to everything but tucked away next to a fascinating church in lovely Anacapri and accessible by bus to everywhere we wanted to go in Capri. We loved all of Capri, but Anacapri is quieter and less touristic.||||Our kind and friendly hosts greeted us and told us all about the area, restaurants, hiking, places of interest, buses, ferries, etc. complete with maps and timetables. One highlight -- they knew where and when to see the sunset on the cliffs, which we hiked to, with an excellent restaurant nearby that drove us back for free. ||||The comfortable room turned out to be a furnished apartment, which was a bonus. It is in an old convent and is very homelike. They made us cappuccino and offered a nice breakfast in a lovely parlor room.||||One small wish was for some TV in English for the little time we spent in our room. There are many stations, all in Italian. Maybe there were closed captions in English - we never asked.||||If we return to Capri we will certainly...
Read moreCarlo and Rosaria and son Alessandro Scoppa made us feel like family from the first day. We stayed in what was formerly part of the nuns'choir of the monastery. We had a spacious suite with a barrel vault ceiling, a table and chairs, a small balcony with chairs, and a niche with a sink and counter for making tea or coffee. Signore Carlo made us scrambled eggs and bacon every day for breakfast the ten days that we stayed, his wife made the most scrumptious and moist Caprese cake we ever ate, and always fruit, yogurt, assorted breads and toast and cappuccino. They loaned us beautiful picture books that son Alessandro spent a couple of hours explaining some of the history of the island and the various villas. Signora Rosaria generously washed our clothes and did not charge us. On our last day as we were checking out, Alessandro ran to catch us at the bus station to give us a cell phone cord we had forgotten. God willing, we cannot wait to stay...
Read moreWow! Where do I even begin? My husband and I came to stay here on our honeymoon, and the family who owns the B&B went above and beyond. From special treats left in our room to a special dinner reservation at the island’s Michelin guide restaurant to lists of recommendations of all the fun things locals have deemed “must dos” there is just too much to tell. They even gave us a custom map and helped us secure a boat rental so we could spend the morning peacefully exploring the island - after they set out a very special breakfast for us! I cannot forget to mention the wonderful rooms either!! The room was clean and private and very large as well! It was an oasis for us and even included a terrace! I felt that we should have paid much more for the special experience and special room we were given! Everything about the B&B antico monastero made our stay in capri spectacular. I hope we can return again very soon because it was the most...
