Franco Antonelli — Hotel in Assisi

The room was basic but clean and bed comfy. The food was was terrible. Breakfast was basic nothing was warm. Evening meal not substantial. room was burgled and credit card stolen which was in a locked case. Staff un helpful . Location was not suitable for the elderly due to many hills (advertised for the elderly coach tour). The shower resembled a hose pipe and not fit for purpose. We booked this through Sheehan’s but later found out it was under another name. No notifications telling us that the hotel had changed from the original hotel initially . Only place to sit of an evening was on the pavement outside . However did have an indoor lounge with bar. Overall not very inviting at all and will not be returning ever. Just returned from coach tour in this hotel, read reviews before going with some trepidation but I can honestly say it was worse than expected and definitely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in despite 20+ years of travel in Italy. The main area of concern is the food and waiting staff. Staff were rude and had members of the tour in tears on more than one occasion. Requests for condiments such as salt pepper and oil( required as the food so bad) were point blank ignored. Hairs in food on more than one occasion, food undercooked, mass catering of frozen food heated in oven only. Can honestly say there was not meal that was good or presented well. Hotel rimasto agli anni 60 con camere spaziose ma molto "fredde" e manutenute solo con imbiancatura nascondi magagne. In compenso la hall era tutta tappezzata di foto e suppellettili degli scooter. La porta della camera con chiave tipo lucchetto e anni 50 ma con badge stacca corrente moderno. Il box doccia con ruggine in basso, il lavabo lo stesso dalla costruzione con manopole tappate sostituite da miscelatore . Il pezzo forte e' la vaschetta dello scarico wc in alto azionata da pistoncino non usufruibile da un bambino e la tv non fissata si trovava sopra un armadio alto due metri e accendibile da telecomando , posti in piedi sul letto , ce la vogliamo mettere una staffa girevole al muro? costa troppo ?! In bagno asciugamani sottili tipo lenzuolo che non ti asciugano , manopola asciugamani con viti mancanti. Al locale ristorante non vi e' Maìtre , signore divise per settore che dopo l'inizio pasti , portano le bibite ai tavoli una ad una , praticamente l'ultimo tavolo riceve l'acqua insieme al secondo ! E dotarsi di un carrrello ?N.B. le bevande , anziche' segnarle alla stanza , si devono pagare alla cameriera subito in contanti. Menu' povero concordato con il tour operator , no dolce neanche a Pasqua e Pasquetta ma solo un frutto a testa ed una banana da dividere in quattro ! Colazione alla S.Francesco molto povera piu' consona ad una Rsa , caffe' imbevibile della macchina o a pagamento al baretto nella hall , cornetto unico , torte confezionate del discount , salame e formaggio ; macchina "succhi" che ti dava anche l'acqua il tutto non a buffet e governato da una sergente di ferro che non ti faceva toccare nulla !! Dimenticavo , ai piani se non scattava il crepuscolare, dovevi accendere la luce a tempo per trovare la toppa ! Meno male che fuori l'hotel vi erano bar e gelaterie molto ben fornite ! Non ...
