Pizzeria Nonna Papera — Restaurant in Assisi

The chef simply loves his job, and you can see how he prepares the Pizzas - its a show by itself. This is also how they taste - amazing! Very well made, with good ingredients and the right amount of crust, in a real Forno. Rated #1 by my kids (and they ate a lot across Rome and Umbria). Cozy place, with happy Italian music playing (and the chef singing along sometimes), and warm people.

The service was great and the toilet was very clean. Place is a bit warm as there is no air conditioning.

Plenty of parking on the street limited to an hour, or without limit near the basilica if you're willing to walk by foot a little...

Ho cenato due volte in questo ristorante , essendo di proprietà dei titolari dell’albergo Los Angeles l’ho trovato comodo. L’arredamento fa molto locale “alla vecchia e buona” non particolarmente curato l’ho trovato comunque sobrio e minimale quanto basta (un restyling non sarebbe male , soprattutto le sedie…)

Il personale , soprattutto il cameriere senior l’ho trovato molto disponibile , preparato e professionalmente piacevole , bravissimo!

Ho mangiato un primo “ravioli di spinaci con pomodorini e stracciatella di burrata se non erro” ahimè i ravioli erano leggermente crudi , comunque piatto nella norma direi , nulla di che e verdure alla griglia come contorno. Il secondo giorno ho scelto la pizza e onestamente sono rimasto un po' maluccio , con verdure e aggiunta di asparagi + mozzarella di bufala a freddo come da mia richiesta , per conto mio ampiamente al di sotto delle mie aspettative.

Nel complesso se non avete pretese e preferite la comodità e la mediocrità a qualcosa di più curato e attento direi che rimanendo in zona può fare al caso vostro.

P.S. Vengono serviti dolci surgelati direttamente dal frigo se siete “fan” di questa tipologia di dessert.
