A clean and comfortable hotel, about a 10 minute walk from the central lift and slightly further away from the Frachey lift which is the quickest route to the second valley via Bettaforca. The walk is along a reasonably lit path, although it was very icy during our visit. The owner will transport you in his minibus if you ask, we only asked once as it was snowing, but handy if you have to carry your ski gear. The room was clean but quite small, but not a great deal of storage space for all of those skiing clothes. We felt adding some more shelves in the wardrobe would help, but if you have space take some hangers as this would help. There were only 10 in the wardrobe. Food is the highlight, excellent quality and probably the best I have experienced in a ski resort hotel. Whilst quality is good, choice is limited, but ok for a weeks trip. The communal area is rustic with nice comfortable chill out areas, great for playing games or having a quiet drink. Owners are lovely and engaging and have two friendly dogs, the first is an old rescue dog that they have taken in who is very friendly but not so energetic. The other is into everything, always wants to play and runs around continually. If dogs are your thing, you will love it as it gives it a homely feel. My biggest criticism is the bar bill, we went with friends, and asked to keep separate accounts, but you are never asked to sign for anything, so when we came to pay the final bill we got a real shock. When queried, the system was very manual, and you couldn’t identify what days or drinks had been ordered. It’s not something you want to be doing on holiday but keep a close eye on what you are drinking, particularly if you are with close friends as it was very embarrassing at the end of the trip, even though we realised that we had paid more of the bill than we should have. I recommend that you keep a record of what you are buying and the cost, so that there is no ‘confusion’ at the end of the week, as it wasn’t a great way to end a holiday. Perhaps pay as you go, then there will be no problem. Overall a great base, but could be excellent with a little...
Read moreThis is a lovely hotel, very friendly staff and feels like you are staying in family home. We booked with Ski2 and so had daily transport to and from the hotel which is a few minutes drive from the lifts in Champuloc or Frachey. Nice walk into town too along a well lit path also. It was very quiet when we went as it was Xmas week and Italians tend to holiday the week after Xmas, which was very busy when we left on 29 December. The food is very good with several starters, salad bar, meats and cheeses, first course, main and dessert. Servings are smaller but the overall meal is very filling. The a la carte menu is quite limited although there are daily specials. The wine selection is very good.|The rooms are lovely, quite small but more than adequate for a week's holiday. Good television service which is very unusual but on a rainy afternoon was very useful.|Ski and boot room was very good and spacious although the flight of stairs was a challenge with tired legs. We enjoyed the spa which although small was very well equipped with foot spa, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and couple of different treatment showers. Very relaxing.|Loved having the dogs around especially Stella the Jack Russell who needed regular pieces of ice throwing for her. Really enjoyed our stay and the skiing...
Read moreVisited this month for a wedding celebration and we will definitely be back! The hotel is beautiful. with breathtaking views from all sides in the snow. The owners and staff are all amazing and made it feel like you were also staying among friends. Very family friendly, warm and comfortable and the food was good too! On one night one of the waiters noticed my 3yo son was very upset about a sore finger and he took a quick look at it and walked away. He came back with the worlds smallest band-aid and my son was instsntly calmed and happy with his repair :) We even got given a spare band-aid for later. ||||Close to all the great things to do and see in Champolac while still feeling like it's a little haven to return to at the end of the day. We had such a fabulous time, if you're unsure where to stay on your holiday to Champolac try this place I don't think you'll be...
