We spent 6 nights here, the hotel has apartments which are located 50 metres from the hotel. The apartment we had was on first floor it was spacious, immaculate had a dining living room with kitchen, bedroom and a large bathroom, we also had a balcony which was generous in size, it had table chairs and a clothes drying rack.||What was very appealing about this apartment was the clean modern design everything was in excellent condition.||The bedroom was a generous sized bed was queen sized, bed linen good quality, sleep quality excellent ,beds very comfortable as were the pillows. There was an air conditioner in both the bedroom and lounge area which functioned very well and was quiet, controlled by remote mounted on the bedroom wall. Bedside cupboard and lights modern and functional, what was really impressive was the built in wardrobe space which was really large. Plenty of hanging space and hangers, shelves, spare pillows and it also housed a safe which was again generous size.||The kitchen area had a full size fridge, oven and cooktop and plenty of dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils.||The apartment has a phone so that you can contact the main hotel if required.||The dining table and chairs were modern and functional and a sofa in the lounge area very comfortable,TV was wall mounted.||Bathroom well stocked with towels and bath mats, there is a toilet and bidet and the shower was a step in one with glass doors, lovely and clean and a good supply of hot water. Toiletries are supplied.||||When you check in you go to the Hotel Post Gries and they will then take you to the apartment which as I mention was 50 metres away. Access to the apartment building is via a gate which is open during day and locked late afternoon, you have access using a card, then there is a elevator which is secure as it will only operate when you put your apartment key in and partly turn. Access to room is via key, so everything is very secure. ||We stayed in several apartments during our stay in Italy this apartment was the best!||Near the apartments a very short walk is a newsagent, bread milk and small goods store. Across the road from apartment is a supermarket about 60 metres from apartments ,this supermarket has everything you need for your stay including fruit and vegetables, meat etc. Further down the road on the same side as apartments is an Aldi store, it’s less than a kilometre away, there is a dry cleaning shop that you will walk past if you go to Aldi.||The main town the old part of Bolzano is about 1.5 kilometres from apartments an easy walk and flat, you will cross a bridge that gives you lovely views of the Bolzano hills mountains.||Taxis are easy to get if required if you arrive by train you will need a taxi to get to Hotel, taxis are reasonably priced, very clean vehicles .Most taxi drivers speak English though it is important to note Bolzano people speak either German or Italian and sometimes both, English is spoken in some places in Bolzano .You will see street names are in both Italian and German .If you are staying in the apartment note that there is daily markets in Bolzano old town one and a half kilometres away. These markets are vibrant and have beautiful produce, meat, cheeses fruit vegetables and more.||The Hotel Post Gries has a restaurant which we dined at one evening, excellent food and customer service, plenty of traditional food on offer, meals are well placed and portion sizes are generous.||Bottom line Hotel Post Gries apartments are superb would definitely stay there again and highly recommend you consider if you are planning a...
Read moreWe stayed there for 2 night and it was a great experience.
I originally booked it through booking.com but found it cheaper on their own website. Thanks to that, I was able to cancel my last night (the 3rd one) spontaneously, with the help of the very nice and friendly staff.
Location: in an area that feels like the "less interesting" part of town, around 15-20 min walk from the old town. However, by bus it's much faster.
You also get a Bolzano Card for free and you use all types of public transportation for free as well, and even to museums and other activities.
The hotel itself has 2 building, one where the reception is and another part in a neighboring building, with a little lounge to sit in on the groundfloor.
We were in the other building (rooms 206 with a double bed, and 207 with a single bed and a sofa). The rooms are small but modern and functional. Felt very very clean! Bed was comfortable, pillow was less (too thin).
Shower had great pressure and was also super clean.
Breakfast was not included but cost only extra 10eur. For that you get a buffet with boiled eggs, cheese, salamis, musli, coffee, croissant and strudel and more. Real value for money!
All in all, you won't find luxury or grand design jere, but rather effectiveness, good service and great breakfast.
The only downside is that the church bells are very loud and heard even with earplugs, so if that bothers you, consider another place.
Recommend for a short...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel during my motorbike tour at Dolomite. Bolzano is one of the best location at Dolomite if you aim to ride over passes. If you ride towards west to can go passes Stelvio, Tonale, Gavia etc. If you ride to east you can reach passo Pordoi, Sella, Gardena ets. Garda is not so far. If you drive 1 hour to north you can reach Austria. ||||Hotel is very nice. I guess it is a family business and owners are mostly at front desk. Staff are all friendly and polite. There are three buildings and the enterence is at the Penegal street. I recommned them to change the address as Penegal street instead of Corso della Liberta. My Garmin did not recognize Corso della Liberta.||||Hotel is located 1 km far from city center and you can easly walk to the center. There are also free bicycles for guests and you can pick one of them to have a short tour around the city.||||Rooms are very clean and comfortable. No negative comment. Breakfast was also excellent. There is a small bar at the base floor of 1.st building and you can rest in the afternoon while drinking you wine or beer.||||Underground garage for bikes and bicycles is also a big advantage for bikers. You can leave all the load and ride towards mountains by a naked motorbike.||||Wifi signal was...
