We stayed at Residence Sa Pintadera for 2 days in the beginning of July during our travel in Sardinia. Residence Sa Pintadera is a family run business. Owners (Anna and Pepe) are very friendly and lovely people, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They really love Cabras, and can advise you what to see and what to do. The breakfast was fantastic and delicious, made by Anna from local produce. We had a totally different breakfast each day! Anna and Pepe introduced us to local wine, cheese and bread, and also bottarga, the Italian salted delicacy of cured grey mullet roe. It is yammy with a spaghetti! Even the cats (five of them) are very friendly and make your stay feel like home! Anna made a reservation for us at the local restaurant "Sa Pischera 'e Mar'e Pontis". We were the only foreigners there surrounded by locals. Living in New York City for many years, we are difficult to be surprised by food. But we were shocked in a good way by the presentation, quality, quantity and price! If you have a chance, don't miss your opportunity to dine there! Our apartment with patio and garden view was clean, comfortable, well decorated, with equipped kitchen, and quiet. The location is great, minutes of driving to gorgeous beaches (Mari Ermi, Is Arutas, San Giovanni Di Sinis), the archaeological site Tharros Ruins and Penisola del Sinis with pink flamingos (a must see place). We would definitely recommend Residence Sa Pintadera! Thank you...
Read moreThe place is superb. We arrived in the evening (8 PM), the host was warm and welcoming, and we moved in very quickly. The accommodation was very nice, clean and comfortable with AC working very nicely. The kitchen was fully equipped, including a big fridge and nice gas stove+oven. The place is within a maintained garden with olive trees and pines and offers a quiet place to rest and enjoy yourself both in the early morning and late evening. The breakfast was delicious, offering various homemade jams and fresh-prepared cakes, small pizzas, etc., all tasty and flavourful. You can get a splendid cup of espresso, cappuccino, or tea, and you get the feeling the hosts wish you feel 'at home'. The place is quite close to the lake/river. During our visit (September), there were many mosquitos in the evening and early morning - bring some repellent or stay indoors. Neither good nor bad is that a few cats are wandering around the place - we didn't mind, but some...
Read moreThe location is almost at center which is nice. The place is surrounded with trees and nice atmosphere. However, the rooms are not as good as these above topics. Refrigerator door was broken, beds were hard as a stone(mostly in accommodation companies choosing beds which is suitable for most of the people like hotels). If you are not used to that you will feel pain at your back every morning. When we were choosing this place for stay actually 2 topics we have taken into consideration; one is the location(almost at the center of cabras and also 1 hour drive to most of good spots), second is the comments on the breakfast. Breakfast is not something you are used to, that was surprising and a little shocking. I would recommend for visiting bakery’s much more a good idea. The last thing is attitude of the owner lady which was nice when we first arrived. However, during our stay we had to see that this behavior was...
