I chose this hotel for my two-night stay due to its close proximity to the train station. A big and bright lobby was very welcoming upon my arrival. Those with luggage will want to know that there are several steps to navigate at the entrance. I was in Caserta to tour the royal palace and was delighted to find it was conveniently located right around the corner from the hotel.||My room was a small double, a big mix of old and new furnishings. I'd guess it was in the middle of being renovated. The bathroom fixtures, lighting electronics, TV, bed and some wall finishings had all been upgraded recently but some other of the wall finishings were well-worn and in desperate need of being replaced. An honor bar was provided and left little room for personal items in the mini-frig.||A hot breakfast buffet was included in the room rate, but the scrambled eggs were ice cold both mornings I was there...no joke. Thankfully the meat selection was suitably hot.||The front desk provided luggage storage for two hours on my departure day but instead of locking them up in the storage room with other guests' luggage, they pulled them aside in the lobby area without direct supervision. I had a brief moment of panic when I went to retrieve them but the staff on duty couldn't find them. I spotted them sitting in the lobby area accessible to anyone who wanted to take them.||None of the downsides for this hotel are insurmountable so I would definitely stay here again should I travel to Caserta...
Read moreSpent the last 2 nights of our Italian holiday in this hotel. Receptio staff very helpful.||A bit tricky finding the car park, you have to go down a tunnel to find the large parking lot. We were told it was 10 euros for 24 hours if you were a guest of the hotel.||Our room was on the 4th floot, comfortable bed, air conditioning, good sized bathroom. Wi fi provided. The receptionist recommended a lovely restaurant two minutes away from the hotel, and gave us the bus timetable for our bus to the airport, bus station and train station very near hotel so great for getting to Naples and other destinations. Royal Palace is literally on your doorstep.||The breakfast is firfst class - amazing selection of meats, hot food, cakes, croissants, breads, etc. Lovely fresh fruit salads, assorted juices etc. ||Enjoyed some drinks one evening at the bar, served by Marino, the barman, who also worked in the breakfast room each morning. All staff ourteous and friendly.||Would agree that the furniture in the room was a little "Distressed", not sure if it was old or deliberately meant to look that way, but this was only a minor matter.||All in all, good value for money, and the breakfast will keep you going...
Read more4 stars hotel but with 3 stars standards room/ facilities. Cleanliness, breakfast, service and staff are great. Location is convenient. But for the price of the room, it is underwhelming.
Double bed is just 2 single beds pushed together - if you lie in the middle you will sink in: what's the point of having a double bed if you can only sleep strictly on 1 side and not in the middle.
Soundproofing is horrible: Windows face the busy street and there's commotion from the traffic and crowd on the streets (when there's special events or concerts at the castle), which is bad for a customer's sleep even at 12mn.
Room comes with blackout curtains which is good for sleep.
Lift is very old and it feels like it may break down at any moment with the sudden jerks. I feared for my life when I stepped into 1.
Overall not a great place for customers to rest and recuperate. For the price, customers are better off checking out bnb...
