Had a great stay here! We were able to check in early and was greeted by the owner with espresso and peach cake! Echo provided helpful translation when needed. We also received an invitation to the family's alpaca farm that night. The room itself was very clean and cutely appointed. We were only there for one night, but it had all the basics we needed with the exception of dish soap. Good WiFi! The pool was a fabulous respite from the extreme heat - it's not a lap pool but plenty of room to swim around and relax. It is located an easy walk across the street to the lake. About a five minute walk to the grocery store. About a 10 to 15 minute walk to the top of town. about a 20 minute walk from the train station. We ate at Ostteria le Scalette & had a great meal. We took a passagiatta through town after dinner & came across a marching jazz band that processed through town. All around a great trip to Castiglione Del Lago! The photos of this residence are very misleading. It is only the front that looks over the lake, the other gardens look over the side road, or the back and the pool is small. The apartment itself was very tiny, the third bed serving as the settee. The kitchen area was only equipped with a gas hob and fridge. There was no microwave or coffee machine. The bedroom was adequate, and the bed comfortable.||It was not mentioned when booking, that almost opposite to the residence is the police dog training centre. The dogs bark all day until about 22.45 hrs. and can be heard for quite a distance around the Lake. I love dogs and have 3 of my own, but this was rather excessive !||However, the staff are very helpful, although very little English is spoken, and the breakfast was OK.||Castiglione del Lago is very pretty, and is an easy walk from the residence, as are the restaurants. There are two large supermarkets nearby which make it easy for shopping.||||All in all, this was a very...
