I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be very clean, with all the necessary amenities provided. However, I would not classify it as a true 4-star hotel. Pros: Cleanliness: The hotel is clean and well-maintained. Amenities: Basic amenities are available, though nothing exceptional. Rooftop Area: The rooftop offers a beautiful view of the mountains, and the bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location: While not in the downtown area, the hotel is within a 20-minute walk to the boat terminal, and the distance is manageable. There is also a large supermarket just five minutes away, which is convenient for picking up anything missing from the room. Cons: Staff Knowledge: The front desk staff were not knowledgeable about local activities, tours, or attractions. There were no brochures, flyers, or helpful recommendations for tourists. Even basic information about the local theater was unavailable. Room Comfort: The walls are very thin; I had to sleep with earplugs every night due to noise from other guests and furniture movement above. If a neighbor smoked on their balcony, the smell easily entered my room. Amenities for Price: For $320 per night, I expected more. There was no complimentary water (charged 2.9 EUR per bottle on the second day), and bathrobes were only available for an extra 10 EUR. The refrigerator barely worked, and there was no ice available. Breakfast: The breakfast was very basic and unremarkable. The coffee machine produced mediocre coffee. Service: The front desk staff were not helpful with planning or providing advice on things to do in the city. Summary: The hotel is clean, just normal grey box and offers some view if you get the right room, but it is overpriced for the amenities and service provided. The lack of helpfulness from the front desk and absence of tourist information made my stay less enjoyable. I appreciated the nearby supermarket and the rooftop bar, but overall, I would not rate this as a...
Read moreI booked this 4 star hotel and was very disappointed. For the price and the rating, I simply expected more all around.
The "standard room" was dark with a low ceiling i could touch (I am 1.80). The bathroom felt somewhat old and outdated, and as it was a room with bathroom for disabled people, really quite odd.
After our restaurant visit, we wanted to have a drink, but that is only possible until 8 at the pool (way too cold in April in the evening). The other bar was closed, and was in the hotel lobby and not comfortable (at least the barkeeper was nice enough to bring us the drinks down so that we didn't have to sit in the cold on the terrace). But from a 4-star hotel I simply expect a lot more, at least a comfortable place to have a drink, not a table right next to the entrance door.
The breakfast room had the ambiance of a train station and at the same time on the way to the buffet an oddly low ceiling, again. The breakfast itself was ok, but here the service left to be desired as we had to ask to have the sausage refilled (which they did quickly after asking).
Electric charging is available, but they charge 80 cents per kwh, which is way more expensive than at the Tesla Supercharger, so we didn't charge much although that was originally an important point for choosing the hotel. But for a slow-charger at a hotel, the price is ridiculously high and you feel like you are being taken advantage of.
The hotel is also a bit too far from the lake to be a comfortable stroll.
Overall, I was simply disappointed. for much lower price would be ok, but this was not 4...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hotel Como in late August for 1 week in a superior room for 3 people. Room was very clean, modern and comfortably large. Bathroom was also spacious with a walk in shower, all good.|The location is approximately a 10-15 minute slow walk to the old Town and another 10 to the lake front. It's a flat walk too, no big hills and direct, it's virtually 1 straight road. It's in what you call the suburbs on the edge of the old town but it's a very quiet area especially in the evening, walking back at night you barely see anyone and it feels very relaxed and safe. A mid sized supermarket is right next door with a very large general clothing store next to that. Very convenient. |The hotel is clean and modern looking inside and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Cleaning staff are extremely efficient and will clean your room daily without having to get up early. |Pool and bar are nice. Pool is a nice size approx 15m long by 7m wide it's not as small as the picture looks. The bar does decent food up til 9pm. Handy if you don't want to walk to town all the time but the food is basic meals. Como itself is a wonderful small city with a beautiful lake that has to be explored by boat. I would definitely recommend Hotel Como. If it was right next to the lake I would give it 5 stars, however it would be a lot more expensive...
