Museo della Seta di Como — Attraction in Como

A very nice and complete museum full of interesting things. Personally, I had a family interest in going as my own great-great-grandmother worked as a spinner in a silk-producing facility during this period, but even if you have no connection to the silk industry or to Como, it is a really interesting museum! Everything is very well explained and they have lots of machines, artifacts and interactive displays. One of the most amazing artifacts is the Jacquard loom that used punch cards to create patterns, which are in a way the antecedent of modern computers. There’s even a perfect copy of Da Vinci’s “Last Supper” made in silk with the use of that technique. The staff is very kind and interested in what they do. The museum is not very big and it is quite central. They also have occasional temporary exhibits. Great!!! Certainly worth a visit if...

Splendido Museo in quel di Como, illultra passo passo la lavorazione della seta a partire dalla cura del baco fino al prodotto finale. In mostra moltissime macchine originali, la seta in tutti suoi stadi fino al prodotto finito, compresi bellissimi pezzi e abiti in vera seta. Ci sono anche attività e sale interattive adatte ai bambini (ma belle anche per i grandi 😉). Il costo del biglietto è molto ridotto, a settembre 2025 soltanto 10€, e ci sono tariffe agevolate per gruppi, classi, persone con disabilità etc. Inoltre nota positivissima, compresa nel prezzo c'è l'audioguida, disponibile in diverse lingue e molto ben fatta, cambia totalmente in positivo l'esperienza perché con semplicità e precisione e senza dilungarsi illustra l'intero museo. Sono presenti anche mostre temporanee, anche quelle comprese nel prezzo, noi abbiamo avuto piacere di vedere una mostra sulla figura della diva, che raccomando.

Alla fine del giro è presente un gift shop dove è possibile acquistare prodotti in vera seta e altri piccoli oggetti legati al museo.

Lo staff è estremamente cordiale e capace, ti avvia all'esperienza illustrando il funzionamento delle sale e dell'audioguida, ed è disponibile in qualsiasi momento per assistenza. Il museo infine è pulitissimo, ben organizzato e curato nel dettaglio, oltre che facile da raggiungere coi mezzi pubblici.

Un gioiello segreto che mi sento di raccomandare a tutti, ci sono andato quasi per caso ma è stato l'elemento più bello della mia breve...
