Made the booking for what we believed to be a Junior Suit in their Villa with a private balcony and lake side view. On arrival we were told our room was not available (we were an hour early, so took the time to stroll around the complex and have a drink at their outside bar). We were surprised to find so many camper vans and caravans so close to not only the hotel but to each other. The site was busy, however the pool area quite, many people sitting on the grass not utilising the sun loungers (which we later found was an additional daily charge for use!!).|The gentleman from the reception/bar informed us our room was ready and proceeded to show us to the room. He led us through the hotel, to the staircase to a modern, light, airy room within the hotel itself. I tried to explain that we had booked a Junior Lakeside Suite in the Villa, I attempted to show him our booking which was made direct from their website, he proceeded to shout at us saying "NO THIS IS YOUR ROOM" "Please, Please, Please this is all we have NO Villa". |The view from the room was of the crowded camper van / caravan park, something we would never have booked. His mannerisms and abruptness to this situation made us feel uneasy and we made the decision to immediately leave, loose the deposit we had paid and find accommodation which would suit our needs better. |I'm sure the hotel would be suited to many people, however the thought of trying to relax in the evenings on the balcony overlooking families dinning in their caravans was not one we envisaged when booking our stay at Lake Como. |In the end it was a blessing in disguise, we found an amazing hotel in Porlezza, Lake Lugano which exceeded our...

Staff are very friendly and helpful. ||Pitch size very good and fit on our camper van and awning (which is quite big) ||Pool was a little cold but still enjoyable as the weather was very hot. Close to the lake for playing and water sports. Some good bars and restaurants on the lake front.||Drove to Menaggio a couple of times (20 minute drive) and went to the Lido there and then caught the ferry to Varenna. Varenna is just beautiful. ||Very local supermarkets. They do close between 12-3 which I kept forgetting! Also some lovely ice cream places on the main road. ||Really couldn't ask for...
