We stayed 5 nights in the top floor apartment, May 7th to 12th 2017. The apartment is very nice, the view magnificent and cleaning impeccable. However the hot water supply was absolutely insufficient, and cold showers are not on my list of holiday pleasures.||||The WiFi was not stable, and we had to open the door to connect.||||Before the holiday I had a bad experience with the hotel abusing my credit card account, and I can see from at least one other review that others have experienced the same. Here are the facts:||||I booked through booking.com for 5 nights for a price of 625 € to be paid during our stay. A lower price was possible, but I wanted to be able to cancel at a late date.||||Jan. 19th the hotel withdrew 625 € from my account, and Feb. 12th they repeated the stunt. That is twice the amount and months before the rent was due.||||I complained to booking.com, and from my perspective they handled the matter professionally, but when the money wasn't returned after 17 working days (late March), I asked the bank to return the money and informed booking.com that the matter, which I now considered as fraud, would be turned over to the police.||||Booking.com reacted promptly by returning the 1250 €, and that settled the matter for me, except that I had lost about 45 € due to the bank's exchange rate (selling/buying Euro).||||I guess I expected some kind of apology during our stay, but nothing was said or done - it was as if nothing had happened. When I paid the bill (625 + 15 € tourist tax), the total amount was 650. I asked how 625 + 15 adds up to 650, and the amount was adjusted to 640. Had the circumstances been different, I would have dismissed it as a simple error, but now I am biased.||||Whatever you think of the facts is up to you, but if you don't mind cold showers, my advice is to keep a watch on...
Read moreThe location of Kalaskiso was perfect for us. We could walk everywhere, and were minutes from the beach. The beaches closest to Kalaskiso are the sandiest, they get stonier the further up you go.||However, Kalaskiso were quite frustrating to deal with. We booked through booking.com, and were aware that we may be charged a small fee for the credit card check. Kalaskiso charged us the entire amount for our stay in three separate transactions three months before our visit. These transactions also resulted in additional fees. We were very much out of pocket. ||We contacted Kalaskiso through booking.com, and by the end of June they assured us we would have our money back within 30 days, plus the additional fees which they had said they would cover.||This never happened, as the date of our holiday approached we were constantly checking to see if the money had been returned to our account. By the time we arrived at Kalaskiso we were nervous as we were unsure what would happen when it came to paying for our stay.||Although Kalaskiso had said they had refunded our money this was not the case. instead they simply said at the end of our stay that we had already paid.||While we ended up in no worse financial position, it was an extremely stressful build up to our holiday.||It is also important to note that there is a city tax charged per person per night, and an additional 20euro charge for using the kitchenette facilities.||There is also an open air nightclub across the road which can be heard in rooms Thurs to sunday.||Staff were friendly.||We didn't avail...
Read moreWe stayed here for a week in September and everything was great. The position of the hotel: very close to the beach, port, shops and restaurants. The room: very clean, big, with a nice balcony, a small fridge, a small flat tv (we didn't use it because when in holiday we love to explore places, not to watch tv) a spacious bathroom. The bed was big and comfortable, the sheets were changed several times during our 6 nights stay and the room&bathroom were cleaned daily. Some people said something about a noisy beach club near the hotel. we stayed here fro 21st September and we heard the music in that first night, but it was not as loud as to keep us awake, we closed the doors from the balcony and we slept very well. Maybe during high season (July&August) the music is louder, i don't know. We had breakfast included and we liked it, the products were fresh and enough for everyone, both salted and sweet food. The coffee from the machine was not so good, but the ladies at the kitchen were ready to prepare espresso if asked for. They also had a nice place outside where you could drink the coffee and smoke. The owner is a very nice guy, always smiling and trying to help people (he was explaining to some of his guests about places to visit around Giardini). He doesn't know English very well, we didn't know italian but we managed to understand each other and one day he even waved his hands and smiled to us when he saw us at a gelatteria. I do recommend Kalaskiso' and if i ever come back to Giardini Naxos i'll definitely...
