This is a lovely and peaceful hotel in the heart of Montecatini Terme.|It is perfectly situated to access both train stations (5 minute walk), the station for the funicular that take you up the mountain to the wonderful views at Montecatini Alto (15 minute walk) as well as the many thermal spas (18 minutes). There is a massive park, a theatre where you can listen to some opera or you can hop on the train and be in Florence in 50 minutes and the line also goes to Lucca and Prato. I booked tours to Chanti and Pisa that both had pick ups close by.|They have a lovely reception area and outdoor area to relax in. I found the hotel clean, peaceful and convenient. Do note that the swimming pool is in another building and shared by hotels.|The breakfast buffet has something for everyone, pastries, pancakes, eggs done three ways, bacon, yogurt, cereals, fruit salad. The waiting staff were always so friendly and efficient.|I did not eat lunch or dinner there but the dinner menu was always on display and you can let the receptionist know if you want to attend it was 30 euros for three courses at the time I was there.|There are lots of restaurant options both close by and in the town centre from budget to fine dining.|There are also two supermarkets (Conad city) very close by so the first thing I did was buy myself some milk, beverages and water to go in the mini fridge. A kettle was available in my room.| The shower in the bathroom is a little narrow so if you are of larger build you may want to consider this.|The smart TV is not connected to the internet - I really don't know why in this day and age. I have never enjoyed watching the news back home when I am on holiday, I would much prefer a bit of Netflix at bedtime.|Lots of plug sockets available in the room - three prong sockets.|I would definately stay here again and feel I got value for the...
Read moreOk, this is a strange one. When we arrived, it was too early to check in, which was expected. No problem, can we stow our luggage please? Yes, that's fine. Cool, can we have a coffee and sit in the lounge until our room is ready? No, if you want coffee you'll have to go and find a cafe. I guess that should have been a warning bell... Anyway, we eventually checked in and the room was clean and spacious with good air con. Breakfast was excellent with very friendly staff but the next time we encountered the reception staff, they were as unfriendly as the first time. We noticed nobody was using the rather nice lounge or outside courtyard but based on the lack of atmosphere in both and the surly reception staff, we weren't surprised. They laughably have a drinks menu at reception headed 'Happy hour every day from 4.30.' On the last evening we thought maybe a drink before going out to dinner would be nice. I politely asked the girl on reception if we could have a drink and her verbatim answer was coldly "No. I'm too busy. I'm on my own and I have too much work to do for tomorrow's arrivals." So, no drink, no apology, it was like Fawlty Towers only not so funny. It's such a shame because this could be an excellent hotel if the staff had a better attitude and they offered a proper lounge menu with service to match. It didn't spoil our holiday because, well, Tuscany! But the hotel certainly didn't...

This caused a great deal of stress. I had to report this to the Police, the British Consulate and obtain an Emergency Travel Document during the weekend which was far from ideal.||We were due to return to London Tuesday afternoon and it was touch and go as to whether we would get the document in time , make the flight or have any accommodation if not.||Your staff were very helpful. Alessandro in particular went above and beyond what anyone would expect. He facilitated our requests arranged further accommodation and was just wonderful. We managed to get an appointment to potentially obtain the Emergency Travel Document in Rome. on the Tuesday the day of the flight. We had to go to Rome and return via Pistoia, Firenze and Rome. ||Alessandro leveraged his contacts in Rome to make our stay there far better and gave us peace of mind by helping with accommodation in Montecatini if we didn’t make the flight.||Somehow we made it. Your staff and Alessandro in particular who was outstanding in every way, helped us get through this challenging situation.|||Thank you ||Kind...
