Casa Saba — Hotel in Orosei

Valaria and her family were extremely friendly and welcoming and we thank her very much for hosting us! We really could not have had a better way to end two months of travelling! ||Valaria was extremely helpful, even before we arrived providing us with transport information from Olbia port to her B&B. The location of Casa Saba was a very short walk from the bus stop in Orosei which was ideal! ||The B&B itself was gorgeous: through the gates we entered into a lovely courtyard where we were lucky enough to eat an incredible spread of breakfasts every morning in the sun, in which Valaria had so kindly put together (all homemade breads, pastries and cakes - of which really were fantastic!). The room was modern, spacious and had a huge comfy bed!! The bathroom was equally as spacious and had a great power shower!! We also used the kitchen most nights and prepared salads and pastas!! Finally, there was a lounge in which guests could also use, where we (my girlfriend and I) along with another couple played board games which was a lot of fun! ||Throughout the week Valaria very kindly offered us ideas for days out and day trips, aswell as use of the bikes! We cycled every day to the beaches: just a 35 minute walk (or 15 minute cycle) was Santa Maria beach, which was very nice and surprisingly not as busy as expected. We also ventured further up the coast to Su Barrone which was beautiful. For 1 EUR per bike we cycled through a lovely track through the pine trees where we were met by beautiful sands, and a clear turquoise sea, where we would see at most a couple of families either side of us!! ||Overall, Valaria was an excellent host and really made our stay in Orosei one to remember! ||Best wishes, ||Sean and...

This B&B is not very easy to find even though it is right in the centre of Orosei. You have to go up an unmarked road, which is more of an alley way really. There are iron gates which open up into a courtyard. All the rooms open out into the courtyard with their own front doors with tables and clothes lines outside. At first it felt a bit like some kind of commune but it worked really well. The rooms are very basic but clean and comfortable with a good sized shower room. Breakfast is served outside in the courtyard which on a sunny day is great. The breakfast itself was a bit too sweet for my liking, cakes and custard filled croissants and fruit yoghurt but was very generous. I thought this place was really good value (about £60.00 per night including breakfast) and would definitely stay here again if back in Orosei. Orosei is a great place to visit, small but quaint with a lovely central square with trees and plants around and surrounded by cafes and bars. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und nett empfangen. Nachdem wir unsere Sachen abgelegt haben, bat Valeria uns gleich ihre Hilfe an.||Die Unterkunft ist sehr kinderfreundlich. Ihre drei Kinder selbst spielen im Innenhof gerne den Tag über.||Wir haben 8 Nächte in der Unterkunft verbracht. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gepflegt. Die Reinigung kommt jeden Tag und ist sehr gründlich. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist normal (Ikea).||Das Frühstück war überhaut nicht nach unserem Geschmack. Das Brot ist vermutlich nicht selbst gemacht, lediglich ein Stück Kuchen macht Valeria wohl jeden Tag selbst. Es gibt dann zwei helle Scheiben Toast und zwei dunkle Scheiben Toast. Als Belag sucht man vergebens nach herzhaftem. Es gibt Marmelade, Nutella und Sirup. Wer dann noch Lust auf Süßes hat, kann sich gerne an Cornflakes oder Schoko- oder Pudding-Croissant bedienen.||||Die W-Lan Zugangsdaten liegen im Zimmer bereit. Das Signal sucht man allerdings vergebens. Ich kam leider gar nicht in den Genuss es zu finden, obwohl ich in der Unterkunft umhergegangen bin und danach gesucht habe.||||Das größte Ärgernis war allerdings die Küche. Als wir ankamen hat sie sie uns sogar noch präsentiert. Als wir vergebens am nächsten Tag nach Töpfen und Geschirr gesucht haben und Valeria darauf ansprachen, sagte man uns, es sei nicht gestattet dort zu kochen. Sie bot uns an, uns aus den von uns gekauften Zutaten etwas zu kochen. Man spürte allerdings wie unangenehm ihr das war und wir lehnten dieses Angebot lieber ab. Stellt sich bloß die Frage, warum man uns die Küche dann so zeigt. Außerdem haben wir hier vorher schon gelesen, dass andere Gäste hier Pasta etc. gekocht haben. Außerdem war es ok, wenn eine Mutter für ihr Baby Brei in der Küche kocht. Ein anderes Paar durfte die Küche anscheinend auch benutzen.||||Als wir einen Tag länger auf dem Zimmer waren und gelesen und geschlafen haben und nicht wie üblicherweise zum Strand gefahren sind, fragte man uns abends, ob alles okay sei, weil man sein Zimmer nicht verlassen hätte. Das kam uns ein bisschen so vor, als ob man beobachtet wurde.||||Insgesamt kann ich die Unterkunft bedingt weiterempfehlen. Wer keinen Wert darauf legt, Internet oder eine Küche zu haben, der kann hier eine glückliche Zeit verbingen.||Wir fanden die Restaurants im Umfeld leider nicht so gut und waren deswegen etwas enttäuscht, dass wir die Küche nicht...
