This restaurant has been in business since 1974 but the way they manage it is a joke. I will tell you my story so please bear with me. The restaurant doesn’t accept reservations, which is perfectly fine. We arrived at 8:30 and it was busy, estimated waiting time was 40 minutes. With two hungry toddlers, it is a challenge but we chose to wait. Our name wasn’t written on a list or anything. I guess the lady has an amazing memory. I went to her and asked if we can get one pizza for the kids while we wait because they’re starving and her answer was a no, you have to wait for your turn. It just blew my mind and I should have left at that time but I wanted to eat here so badly that I let it go. We spent the next hour (not the 40 minutes as the lady estimated) entertaining the kids so they don’t fall asleep and don’t make our life miserable. In the meantime, the same lady was cleaning tables and redoing them again, placing menus, walking customers to tables, getting payments. The waiters were overwhelmed, going in all directions. People were waiting and waiting and waiting for their food to come. We were finally let in at 9:35. The waiter takes us to our table, places 4 menus on it and vanishes. No baby chair, no water, not even a side look to see how we’re doing. He walks by the area back and forth taking dishes and cleaning tables. It was madness, it was chaotic. The menu had very interesting dishes and the food looked great. After waiting for 10 minutes on the table, we chose to leave. I want to the lady at the entrance to tell her that we’re leaving because no one came to see us for 10 minutes after more than 1 hour of wait, I was very calm and respectful. Her response? « Ok va bene » and she turns away and continues doing her things. We were treated like shit here and regret every minute we spent...
Read moreThis restaurant is the worst restaurant we have tried in Orosei (and God knows how many restaurants we have tried since we have been here for two weeks and eat out every day). We ordered a seafood plate. The food was cold and the seafood was not fresh at all. My partner couldn't even eat his plate. At the end, when the waitress asked me if everything was okay, my companion told her that the food was cold and the seafood was not fresh. Then another waitress (a man with glasses) came and said we don't know anything about seafood in a very aggressive manner. Then he took the plates and went to the kitchen shouting and criticizing us in Italian. Let me tell you something sir, I'm Mediterranean, I eat seafood every time and I can tell you that what you gave us was not fresh at all. You need to take a few classes at restaurants near yours and you will see what fresh seafood tastes like (or read on google how to tell when it's fresh or not). Plus, we learned a few words in Italian and we know when you insult us. We did not reply to you because we are more educated than you. It's just a shame but it's funny when you talk bad about us in another language, you're just a coward. I suggest you to take the time and learn your main job, which is how to treat an unhappy customer (trust me aggressivity is not the right way :) )
however to be honest, the waitress (the lady with the curly hair) was very friendly and professional.
This disaster cost us 70eur :D
Anyway, I don't recommend this...
Read moreHonestly the most awful restaurant experience I’ve ever had.
The only good thing about this place was the pizza. So if you’re looking for pizza try it out (but beware of the terrible and slow service!) the wine was also nice.
We ordered two pasta dishes, and both were inedible. So salty it was disgusting!
Then the waitress/manager shouted at us and made out like it was just that we weren’t Italian and we didn’t understand their cuisine. So rude.
We’ve traveled all over Italy, got married in Amalfi, and cook and make our own pasta at home, as well as eat out at top Italian restaurants in London. So for her to be so dismissive, and even angry (shouting at us), was so awful. And embarrassing.
Yes, the pecorino was extremely salty, but the pasta itself, and sauce, was so salty you couldn’t even eat the dish.
Eventually she calmed down, stopped shouting, and apologised and removed the dishes from the bill.
But we left with an extremely bad taste in our mouths, in more ways than one. Will...
