Helmjet Sexten — Hotel in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

First off it was very hard to buy tickets from the kiosk as english speakers who know quite a bit of German. The automated ticketing system is linked with a bunch of other gondolas and lifts so we couldn't tell how to buy a round trip up and down for the gondola in front of us. The man at the gondola spoke no english but finally suggested we go to the ticket office, hidden on the other side of the parking lot. There another person who barely spoke any english took care of us and we were quite shocked at paying $70 for 2 people to go up and down. It was a rainy day with low clouds and there were no webcams to tell us if there was a view to see up top, so we took the chance. Well, three was little to see at top, just valleys with clouds, and it was snowing in early October! We did enjoy a nice hot drink and schnapps at the restaurant before coming back down as there wasn't anything to do at the top. As a tourist I would only do this again on...

The Seilbahn Sexten Helm gondola cars are awesome! They're practically brand new, super spacious, and unbelievably quiet. The views of the Dolomites are truly amazing. Kids absolutely loved it! We went on a Saturday and surprisingly found some parking spots. Highly recommend it for a fun...

La cabinovia permette di godersi l’area del Monte Elmo, che è un’area sciistica ed escursionistica all’interno del Parco delle 3 Cime e delle Dolomiti di Sesto, ed è fruibile da Versciaco (Fr. Di S. Candido) come nel nostro caso e l’impianto di Croda Rossa tra loro collegati.

Siamo tra i 1.130 ed i 2.200 m s.l.m. tra valle e monte e si possono ammirare numerose cime oltre i 3000 metri, il Parco Operl Natura per i bimbi, aree dedicate agli appassionati di parapendio e numerosi sentieri ed escursioni (Prati di Croda Rossa, Sillianer Hutte rifugio in territorio austriaco, Monte Elmo, ecc.).

Naturalmente i prezzi sono elevati a luglio ed agosto (€ 25/corsa, un pò meno con acquisto online) ma, per chi avesse la possibilità di fruirne entro il 30 giugno, la moderna ed efficiente cabinovia è gratuita (3 Zinnen Mountain Card).

Direi un must di questa...
