My boyfriend and I stayed in Martina Breakfast Lodge for 6 nights over the New Year period. Initially the deciding factor for us booking the room was the reasonable price (compared with many other very overpriced places in the region). It turned out however that great value was not the only thing this lovely B & B had to offer. ||||The Lodge is situated very close to the shuttle bus which goes directly to the nearby Seiser Alm, and only a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village. Being first time snowboarders, this became very important as our bruises made walking pretty painful! There are also two supermarkets very nearby. Storage for boots/boards and skis is also provided.||||The room was spacious and warm, with a lovely huge window and balcony and good blackout curtains for a couple of nice lie-ins! It was always kept clean and tidy by the friendly room maids and they had our beds made daily by the time we returned from breakfast - in a range of cheerful duvet sculptures! ||||Breakfasts were an enjoyable and filling affair with a range of tasty mueslis, cereals, juice, tea, coffee, meats, cheeses, pastries and breads on offer. The service and hospitality from Doris was brilliant.||||A tough day on the slopes was always rewarded with a dip in the decent sized pool and a good sweat in the sauna before dinner. We ate out most nights but what impressed me was the thoughtful provision of crockery and cutlery for those who wanted to get something from the supermarket or grab a takeaway and eat in. ||||The communication from Sara at reception was friendly and prompt throughout booking, and though we were meant to swap rooms half way, she arranged for us to stay in the same room throughout without us having to ask. She was also very helpful in recommending restaurants and working out our bus and train times for our journey back. ||||An example of how hospitality should be: less on the frills and more on...
Read moreA lovely B & B Lodge, situated 5-10 minute walk to the town center and shops. The rooms are tastefully decorated with comfy beds. Everything is new and with the latest technology in the bathroom, kitchen appliances and laundry room.||We stayed two days in May and was very enjoyable. Appreciated the peace of the location and serene views over Castelrotto. Great breakfast and very friendly and helpful service. Easy access to their parking from the room.||The purpose of our visit was to tour the Dolomites region. Martina Lodge was a very convenient location for reaching Ortisei (20 min by car with very good road). The Alpe di Siusi cable car station is also at about at the same distance.||Their recomendation of restaurants nearby was right on spot. There is also a supermarket 5 minutes away.||Castelrotto is a small medieval town which makes a good and inexpensive alternative to the high prices of the area.||Would certainly recommend Martina Lodge for a stay as we would go...
Read moreLoved that this hotel was so clean and tidy but it lacked character. Very utilitarian. conveniently located in castlerotto, if that is where you want to stay. (We preferred incredible setting of cortina di ampezza ). Nice giant bathroom. I think that we were in a recently remodeled addition. Everything felt new. Breakfast was good. Great coffee. Only complaint is that they did not have a toaster to heat up my gluten free bread. Google maps lead us to the wrong location and when I called the hotel for help the woman responded to my question " do you speak English" with a "HaHaHa" and hung up not once , but twice. We found the place on our own and were gifted a bottle of wine and an apology upon...
