This wonderful family owned and operated hotel is just a few minutes walk from the center of Castelrotto in a quiet area with lovely views. There are 2 grocery stores nearby. Our large corner room with a balcony was filled with light and beautifully decorated. This was probably the nicest room with a sitting area & large bathroom that we had during our 3 weeks in Italy. We had half-board and thought the food was wonderful too. Breakfast had a large selection of rolls, meat, cheeses, croissants, etc and eggs were cooked to order if you wanted them. Dinner was 5 courses and at breakfast each day we selected our main course from 2 options. We started with a large salad bar that had a fish dish each evening, followed by a pasta or on one evening a filo dough Italian dish that was extraordinary, soup, then the main course, followed by dessert. The large TV in our room had at least 3 English channels. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel and free bus tickets were included in our stay. Our only very minor complaint might be that Wifi is only available in the lobby. We thoroughly enjoyed...

Read moreWe were staying at the Sonnenhof hotel now for the 3rd time and we hope many times may follow. The Rier family is doing a great job. During our stay we had a special New Years Diner which was a real 7 course event. The kitchen staff is outstanding. During our stay our waitress was Petra, she really added the friendly smile to the hospitallity! The hotel has a parking garage for approx half of the visitors cars but parking outdoors is sufficient available. The ski-room contains heated boot holders. The ski-bus stops every 30 minutes in front of the hotel. The hotel also has a wellness area with sauna, swimming pool, turkish steambath. Perfect after a full...
