Casa Vacanze Antica Capua — Hotel in Santa Maria Capua Vetere

We stayed here recently for our first anniversary and the accommodation was lovely. Aside from being starred at by the locals when we went out and being badly eaten alive by mosquitoes, we really enjoyed our stay here. The aircon was a god send and the glass panel allowing you to look down on a section of the original amputheatre was fantstic and the main reason we booked to stay here. We just love the hirsoty of thid area and how thid propery has kep hold of pstt of that. Beautiful location too, particularly at night looking over the illuminated amputheatre, and despite how busy the town can be, it was very peaceful at the property. There were a lot of people hanging around near the entrance at night, which initially unnerved me, but they never bothered with us when we passed by, so don't let them put you off. Lots of stray cats, too, but it was nice to see people feed them. The property was well maintained and had everything we needed for a week stay. There are 2 train stations within walking distance, we only used one and we soon realised that from there, all tickets need to be bought online and that the online apps aren't always accurate so it's best to go off the timetables kn the station. Prices are good though, around €2.60 each into Naples, but 9 times out of 10 our trains were delayed or cancelled, so getting about was tricky and frustrating. I advise a hire car for convenience. Wir waren Ostern 2023 dort und wurden ein wenig enttäuscht. Positiv: Die Lage ist einzigartig mit Blick auf die Historie von Spartakus. Am lauen Abend auf der Terrasse sitzen mit Blick aufs Amphitheater und ein schönen Lambrusco trinken hat schon was. Das WLAN war schnell und wir konten bei schlechten Wetter über Laptop und HDMI am TV auch mal Amazon streamen. Unser kleiner Hund konnte sich unangeleint im Garten bewegen und Katzen Bekanntschaft machen und jagen. Negativ: Leider ist die Einrichtung und der Garten ungepflegt und teilweise kaputt. Da muß der Vermieter noch was tun. Die Bänke sind morsch, die Kunststoff Gartenmöbel eigentlich Sperrmüll, der Garten war mit Plastikabfällen übersät (haben wir in Tüten eingsammelt), Küchen- und Terassenstühle sind billig und defekt und die Dusche schwankt zwischen heiß und kalt.
