This is the BEST restaraunt in the neighborhood !! The food is delicious, the staff wonderfully friendly, and the food put out by the chef is the best you'll find in Santa Maria (or anywhere). The outside is spotless and airy and open. The inside is very nice. Clearly, a lot of money was spent in the design. Very roomy and comfortable (I'm a big guy too) . Lunch, or dinner - you can't go wrong, I enjoy both (on separate days 😁). I'm American, (my partner is Italian) and it's some of the best food we've had anywhere in Italy (or the states). Please note that Google Maps indicates a wrong location of this restaurant: it is located next to the amphitheater on the Eastern side of Piazza Adriano, next to bar Maedi. Il Trace offers a set lunch menu which is excellent value: 15 euros for a primi, a secundi and contorni, including water and wine. For each course, there are two choices. Innanzitutto consiglio di fidarsi di Google maps per l'entrata. Il locale è inglobato dal bar e potrebbe essere non perfettamente visibile l'entrata. Ma non desistete, ne vale assolutamente la pena! Gentilezza e competenza la fanno da padrone. L'ambiente è davvero rilassante e l'atmosfera creata dal personale gentile, cordiale ma mai invadente è davvero qualcosa di raro al giorno d'oggi. Ma veniamo al cibo (che poi è quello che davvero conta!). Il Menù è vario e completo, inoltre, nonostante non vi siano espressamente elencati piatti vegetariani, lo chef prepara varianti veggie della maggior parte dei piatti in menù. Le zucchine alla scapece sono divine e le consiglio, ma in generale tutto quel che abbiamo mangiato io e mia moglie era ottimo. Consigliati anche gli gnocchi fritti (in versione sia mare che monti).
