We stayed here in June 2023 and hadn't added my review properly.... What a beautiful stay at Portico del Paradiso. I really can't understand why this hotel is rated 3 stars?? We have stayed at 3, 4 & 5 star hotels and the welcome and level of service we received at Portico Del Paradiso outshines them all. The staff were so friendly, kind, helpful, simply wonderful. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left (we stayed for 2 weeks). Roberta was amazing, such a delightful host & a very kind & caring person too, she really is a credit to Portico, (as are Patrizia & Valentina), all the staff worked very hard to ensure guests enjoy their stay. Roberta certainly made our stay super special & we will be forever grateful 🙏🏽 |The view from the room is amazing, you have a mountain, town & a sea view all in one. The room very was clean & comfortable with plenty of space, air con and a mini bar. Patrizia made sure the room was clean every day and the mini bar was always filled. Valentina & Roberta served us a wonderful breakfast on the terrace with beautiful views & relaxed vibe. Despite being a b&b they will serve drinks in the evening (at prior request) and they answer any queries easily via whatsapp or in person. Anything we requested was responded to quickly & Roberta went over & above to make our stay special. Having previously stayed in Sorrento & visitited all the tourist spots, we wanted to stay somewhere authentically Italian this time & explore local towns and villages & this was the perfect place for us. We also pre booked some hiking trips and did the Path of the Gods and the Mills Valley waterfall and also spent time relaxing & reading, enjoying the beautiful view. It is a little bit out of the way, but that's what makes it special & much more relaxing than the other local towns, but close enough to visit. We were originally supposed to stay in Ravello, but it was cancelled weeks prior by our travel company, that's when we found Portico Del Paradiso and we are so glad we did, it is a serene & beautiful place to stay, away from the noise, just the sound of nature & the church bells in the background. Amalfi & Positano were too busy for us to want to stay there, but they were only a bus ride away for a day visit. If you struggle with mobility issues or stairs & steps, then car hire is a must, but we just either walked, used the bus or occasional taxis (but taxis are very expensive €50 to get to Amalfi). There are local restaurants in walking distance but book ahead (Our favourites were Trattoria da Lorenzo & Pietros) both were only around 10 mins walk away from Portico & there were other restaurants & cafes locally depending what you like. There is also a local shop at the bottom of the steps. We walked down in to Ravello & back most days, but you could get the bus & there are plenty of shops & things do do there. There are quite a few Cafe bars in Scala itself. We personally think Portico Del Paradiso is the perfect place to stay on the Amalfi coast, peaceful, authentic and relaxing, but also close to all amenties. It really was the perfect place for us, we won't hesitate to book again & can't wait to go back & explore more places. Thank you so very much Roberta, Patrizia and Valentina for a wonderful holiday, we will hopefully see...

Read moreThis was one of the best B&Bs during our visit to southern Italy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were met by Francesco when we arrived and both he, Roberta and Maria Angelou looked after us through out our time with them. The views from the hotel are stunning. You literally see the clouds as they encase the houses below. Ravello is a 5 minute drive away and Amalfi about 25 minutes. If you want to place yourself near Ravello then this place is perfect. Great service makes a place memorable, and this hotel was not short on this at all. A restaurant called il Penguino is about a 5 minute walk away. It's run by a lovely Italian family, where the mother and brother cook some of the most delicious Italian meals we've tasted. We loved it so much we had our evening meal there over each of the 3 nights we...
