Having read positive reviews before we stayed at this hotel I won't repeat what those review say. What I will say is the positive reviews are very well earned by this hotel. We had an very good 10 day stay. We really have nothing negative to say. Here are our highlights:|* The hotel is in the small town of Colombare. Attractive with plenty of restuarants, cafes if you don't want to travel far to eat.|* Sirmione itself is manic with tourists so we found it a relief to get away by walking the 50 mins back to the hotel or using the shuttle bus. The hotel is on a quiet street, in a quite neighbourhood that feels safe|* Short five minute walk to the lake.|* The hotel is clean and smart. It is clear they take pride in presenting a well kept hotel both inside and in the gardens. I have had more comfortable beds and pillows but I have also had worse and it didn't affect my sleep|* The staff are terrific, especially the reception staff. Nothing seems too much trouble, always bright, cheerful, friendly and helpful. They provided information and advice on travelling to places such as Verona and Venice and printed off bus and train timetables|Becaue we were leaving for the airport at 7.00am to come home and because breakfast doesn't start until 7.30am they did a pack-up breakfast for us to take with us at no extra cost|The continental breakfast was faultless. Masses of choice and the food was high quality.|There is a bar and loung bar, popular in the evening. Places to sit inside and out with pleasant gardens.|The little town centre is just at the top of the road with easy access to the shuttlebus and the longer distance buses.||The biggest compliment: we would certainly stay again and...

Read moreRecently stayed here for a short 5 day holiday. The Alferia is a beautiful hotel spotlessly clean and quiet. The staff all speak English and all so friendly. The bar man makes the perfect Pink gin and Lemonade plus any cocktail on his menu. Our room was on the second floor with lift access this was no problem. The room itself was clean and had massive windows with views over to Lake Garda in the distance. A small fridge in each room is a brilliant bonus to keep the beers and Lemoncello cool which we bought from a local Coop. Only negative thing about the room was the rock hard mattress. Breakfast was brilliant every day. Fresh breads and rolls , cheeses. Hams and meats. Fresh fruits to cakes and even a chocolate pump to add to your cake. Big coffee espresso machine. All this and more included. Brilliant start to the day. On the roof is a good sized swimming pool with plenty of sun beds and seating areas. Also a small bar area. The view from here is spectacular with lake and mountain vista. Parking is free around this hotel and only a few minutes walk to loads of local bars and restaurants. Also the walk to the lake is only about 3 minutes away. We ate in a different restaurant each night. The bendy shuttle bus stop is only a few minutes walk away too this takes you into the old town. Just pay on the bus its only 50p more. We hired a car from Bergamo airport and the satnav took us straight to the hotel about 50 mins. Let me end by saying I would highly recommend this hotel for all the above plus more....
