If your looking to have an incredible stay, in a beautiful home, with the most amazing host… You’ve just found your ideal location. Book now before they book up… You will regret it if you miss out on this gem! Would I recommend to a friend? I have already recommended to my very best friend… and MANY more! Let me elaborate… We have stayed at amazing places all around the globe and have NEVER had a stay this special. When we pulled up, Nathalie and Igor met us outside to greet us with a warm welcome. When I say this couple is amazing, I truly mean it… They are funny, sweet, and constantly went above an beyond to make our stay special. (Even accommodating us for dinner the night of arrival, previously unplanned, two hours before dinner after our other plans fell through.) The grounds are absolutely breathtaking and the views are beyond spectacular. Each morning we had breakfast on the patio gazing at the beautiful Tuscan hillside and hilltop town of Montepulciano. I tried to capture how special this place was through pictures, but my photos didn’t do the view justice. In the evenings we would watch the sunset behind the city… Again, absolutely breathtaking. Our room was also beautiful! Beyond being perfectly decorated and absolutely SPOTLESS, the bed was extremely comfortable; I slept like a baby! (And sleep is not something that comes easy to me, so this is saying a lot!) I am also very picky when it comes to spaces needing to be clean and Stelle di Monte exceeded all expectations. One of the few places that has ever passed my barefoot test. Nathalie takes great care in making sure everything in your room is perfect when you arrive back after a long day of exploring. PERFECT! The food… Oh, my gosh, THE FOOD! We traveled for 2.5 weeks though Italy and the two dinners we had here were HANDS DOWN the best food we had the entire trip! Igor is a culinary savant! The combination of flavors he put together were unique and absolutely delicious! The only downfall to eating dinner here… That Igor’s creations will ruin you for any other “great restaurants” in town... Ha! Seriously though, plan to have every meal here. That, and staying longer, are the only things I would have changed! Don’t sleep on their breakfast either! I would stuff myself on the most amazing crepes Nathalie made every morning. (She even gave me her recipe when I left!) I think I gained 10 happy pounds while there! Now, for the highlight of this entire experience… Nathalie, Igor, + Tequila! Nathalie and Igor were the most amazing host you could ever hope for. They have the best personalities that are the perfect mix of sweet and funny. I wish I could move there and be their best friends. They go above and beyond with EVERYTHING they do. They have cultivated such a beautiful and unique experience that goes beyond any typical “bed and breakfast” or Hotel. This place is heaven on Earth! You’re probably wondering where Tequila fits in… Well, Tequila is their ADORABLE, then puppy, that we completely fell in love with! Don’t worry, If you don’t like dogs, the keep him in their space and away from the main area, BUT if you love dogs.. let them know and they will let you get in some good snuggles! The only downfall to the entire experience was when we had to pull out of the drive for the last time. When we were packing up new guest had arrived, so we knew we wouldn’t get to see Tequila. We were both disappointed, but understood. As we were pulling out we saw Nathalie, Igor, and Tequila waiting for us at the top of the hill to say good bye. They knew how much we loved him, so they made sure we got a proper send off, puppy snuggles and all! I got choked up as we were leaving, then looked at my husband and realized he was also upset to leave. He admitted that he had never been sad to leave a place until that moment… Out of all the countries, all the amazing places we have stayed… Stelle di Monte is what got him. Nathalie + Igor, thank you for an...
Read moreIt would take a novel to write about everything we loved about Stelle di Monte, but I’ll do my best to keep it to a readable length. We booked a two day stay there in October of 2022 as part of our honeymoon. They’re relatively new, but the reviews we could find universally described an absolutely lovely setting with hosts who are incredibly passionate about their dream.
To say we were blown away is an understatement. Every single aspect of our stay way absolutely perfect and owes to Igor and Nathalie’s considerable vision for what they wanted create.
The setting is eye-poppingly gorgeous. From the moment you pull in you are greeted with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside. They have gone through great lengths to make sure all guest accommodations have the same amazing experience, and to that end there’s no room at the inn with any less of a view than the last.
The attention to detail in every room and common area is second to none. The time and expense Igor and Nathalie have gone through to achieve an uncompromising vision is apparent from every angle. Beds are comfortable, lighting is warm, and furnishings are all incredibly tasteful. Being in a room at Stelle di Monte is leagues and leagues beyond the experience you would get at any other agriturismo.
Dining at Stelle di Monte was one of the best meals we’d ever had in our lives. Sitting in their lovely outdoor dining area with a view of Montepulciano at dusk, the only thing better than the setting was the food itself. the From an incredibly creative truffle ravioli with pumpkin and cinnamon note to a seared sea bream over fall vegetables, accompanied by local wine, and homemade bread and olive oil from vines on the property, the deliciousness of Igor’s dishes was matched by their creativity. We’d unfortunately only booked dinner for one of our nights staying there in favor of exploring montepulciano our second night, and wish we’d eaten there both nights.
Igor and Nathalie themselves are amazing hosts, and talking to them about the work they’ve put in to make Stelle di Monte a reality only made our stay better. They have worked for several years to take a nearly ruined property and turn it into an absolutely world class boutique hotel, and learning everything that went into the finished product was a highlight of our stay.
The efforts of Nathalie and Igor to make this an amazing destination were reflected in every single minute of our stay. I can’t possibly recommend them more and we can’t wait until we can come back and bring...
Read moreI am bursting with joy to write this review. I knew as soon as we got back home I would have to write it. My husband and I stayed here as one of our many stops on our honeymoon tour of Italy. I let him plan the whole thing (I mostly took care of the wedding!) and asked him not to show me pictures or give me any information. When we arrived, I was stunned. The property is beyond beautiful. Igor and Nathalie were so inviting and gave us a tour (and told us the fascinating history). Our room was spotless and with a 500 year old wall being next to us, everything felt new with an old world feel. They had all the proper amenities and then some. Breakfast is included with your stay and getting to sit on the patio overlooking the hills of Tuscany is simply breathtaking. We booked dinner at Stelle Di Monte for our last night. It proved to be one of the best dinners of our lives. We went to a 3 star Michelin restaurant in Rome a few days after, and it didn't compare. The food was served straight from the kitchen with so much love, time, and thought put into it. Not knowing who Igor was, I asked if he was a chef previously. He humbly told me his backstory of being a head chef at many 5 star resorts, which is impressive to say the least. If you stay here and choose not to eat here, you are missing out on a truly one of a kind experience. We chose to eat in the 2000 year old cave, which made it that much more of a unique experience. We rented e-bikes at the local bike shop, which is about a 15 minute walk from SDM. The bike shop gave us a great route to Cugisi cheese farm that was around 3.5 hours (it's relatively easy with the e-bikes help, but there are hills!). At the cheese farm you can pick out different cheeses, wines, jams, and cured meats and they will pack it in a picnic basket for you to eat there. This cheese farm won best cheese in the world several times. We ran into Igor there, which goes to show you he only buys from the best. Igor and Nathalie were so responsive, as well. We could text them that we would like a bottle of wine in our room for when we return and they had it waiting for us. You can tell that they really love and care for the place and are always looking for ways to improve it. This was our favorite stop on our two week trip, and we went to Positano, Florence, Rome, Venice, and Capri. We will be back and cannot wait to return! Thank you, Igor and Nathalie, for a truly one of a kind...
