A story about why I love this restaurant: In June 2022, we traveled back to Montepulciano but our plane was delayed & landed quite late. We drove around everywhere & could not find a place that would serve us. We were starving and couldn’t believe we might have to go to bed on very empty stomachs in Italy of all places!
We came across Cucina Linda which still had their lights on, but they gestured that they were closed for the night. We must’ve looked so sad & dejected walking back to the car that one of the owners ran after us & welcomed us in despite being closed. Although we could only communicate through a few shared words, they patted us on the back and immediately brought water & grappa shots. It was like they could sense our weary traveler vibes.
We ordered wine & 2 pizzas, which came out quickly and were absolutely delicious. I especially loved the Margherita & ate every last bite. You can tell they were made with love!
The owners treated us with such care, and I will never forget our experience at Pizzeria e Cucina da Linda . It will always make me a little emotional because it represents why I love travel so much - human connection despite a language barrier, and sharing kindness through delicious homemade food. I cant wait to return on...
Read moreFood is great and generous. Pici fresh and tasty, dessert divine. It’s five star. However, cultural inclusion and sensitivity is sadly missing.
Upon arrival, the gentleman warmly welcomed me. Service is efficient. I tried Pici with Ragu, a glass of wine, and Panna Cotta for dessert. The chef clearly knows what he/she was doing.
After the meal, another gentleman offered some after-meal drink, perhaps Grappa, perhaps limoncello (I haven’t got a chance to ask). And then he said “drink it, it is anti-covid, anti-virus”
With a funny-looking smile. Other tables heard and laughed along with him, at me.
Being a young Asian woman, traveling alone, I was amazed by the beauty and warmth of Montepulciano thus far. And at that moment, all the joy from this trip, from adventures, all disappeared. I felt speechless toward the disrespectful “joke”.
Overall, wonderful food, but perhaps with a bit more inclusion and respect. Sometimes, words hurt people, whether they are intentional or...
Read moreThe Pizza Toscana which was meant to have Porcini mushrooms had Champignons instead, I think it would be fair to tell the customer beforehand that you are out of Porcini and let them choose if they want that type of pizza or choose something else. I ate it because I was too hungry to send it back and go eat elsewhere. It was also very mushy because of too much tomato sauce. It also took forever to clean the table when we sat down and only when they brought out the pizza they realised they never brought the utensils and coperto :) Other reviewers mentioned this too so it seems it is not a one-off. They tried to push us into drinking their wine, but the waiter who took the order never bothered to explain the menu or recommend anything before taking our orders. Below...
