In the joining of the hours in lingering days, mortals wondering over how to catch them, gentile hillsides open their treasures as the sun warms the Maremma countryside, a sumptuous expanse without ardor, but so magically and purely managed it could only have been worked while others slept, or is Eden transformed again in the hills of Italy.||||But for work, it's fruit God's blessing, one finds no less just sitting above these soulful gifts beneath Saturnia, resting peacefully overall. No need to capture it with man's tools, or to share with another as though impossible to keep unless seen again; no need even to return again to freeze eternal moments earned only in this one. ||||You will find it all at Villa Clodia, it's hospitality the essence of angels born to serve. Even its lush gardens, where all paths lead, it's grapes languishing beneath verdant vines, their tawny skins the tincture of the warm Tuscan sun, it's orange, fig and olive trees all the sustenance of daily bread, are meaning beyond words, needing only a peaceful spirit to turn their pages. ||||There is more; the baths, of course. Read moreWe had a lovely 3 night stay in this little hotel. The location is very scenic on top of a hill and the facilities are great. Our suite was very spacious with a fantastic balcony offering a panoramic views of the pool and the countryside below. Breakfast was typcially Italian, focussed on sweet items but very good. If there is anything to criticise it would be the carpet in our suite getting towards the end of its life and the hair dryer which is attached to the wall not being very powerful. If I came back I would bring my own. Other than that everything was wonderful and the town itself...
Read moreWe stayed here for three wonderful nights a couple of weeks ago. Saturnia is a great place to stay. We had glorious weather and the views from our room and balcony were stunning. The breakfast was just amazing. We ate outside and the view along with outstanding food was idyllic. We had terrible trouble with mosquitoes around the pool and we should have used repellent as we were bitten many times! The pool was lovely though. We had booked the suite one year in advance to celebrate my 60th birthday and 25th wedding anniversary but when we arrived we were told it was not available now!!! We were disappointed but Stefano the owner admitted it was an error on his part. We had a lovely room but we had been looking forward to the suite which looked incredible. But it did not spoil our stay in this wonderful hotel. We hope to return next...
