I usually don’t bother to leave reviews but the experience my partner and I had here was so atrocious that I feel the need to. Right from the start we were served stale bread, largely the end pieces of several loaves. Looking around, it was clear that the more “affluent-looking” guests were being served fresher bread. We ordered some salads that were plain and carelessly-prepared and then ordered main dishes from the lower end of the menu’s price range. This is when the waiter’s attitude toward us turned really bad. The pasta we were served was unbearably salty, and this is coming from someone that adds salt to EVERYTHING. I let the waiter know and he became extremely rude, asking if we liked tomato and garlic and quickly snatching our plates away from us without any confirmation from us. He then brought us tiny portions of pasta with tomato and garlic and made a snide, condescending remark about how pecorino cheese is very salty. We could see other people with the same dish had received appropriate portions and realized that he’d been treating us differently the whole time because we didn’t have the aire of being big-spenders. It was truly surprising, considering the cheap, trashy vibe of the restaurant (the toilet didn’t even have a seat and would not flush). It’s worth noting that the older, more affluent couple next to us were also clearly extremely dissatisfied with their food. If you value yourself and like to be treated with dignity, avoid this establishment and especially the grouchy short-haired waiter with the beard who seemingly thinks it’s acceptable to treat people without...
Read moreI went to this restaurant a few day ago and gave it a 5 star rating. I went tonight and am amending my stars to 1, the 1 star is solely due to the food. Upon arrival I believe due to the fact I am a minority, we were seated at the back of the restaurant on plastic green chairs next to the kitchen curtain as there was no door. I joined in this section a guy with a awesome fork beard with beads and the guy full of tattoos. In the front of the restaurant, seated on the nice wood chairs were the people who made the restaurant's vision of how an ideal customer should look. As I mentioned the service was awful, only people on the wood chairs got balsamic vinaigrette and brown bread without asking. My friend had an insect land on her and the manager thought it was funny, he later had an insect on his back and later still I found one in my freshly washed hair. We were ignored for over 30 minutes by the manager and waitress even though I tried numerous times to get their attention. I finally gave up hope for a dessert and went to the front of the restaurant to pay. I told the manager the issues and was given a less than half hearted apology and presented with the bill. I refused to pay the service fee as I didn't receive any service. He then got angry and told us to go without paying. He then proceeded to swear in Italian (unfortunately for him my husband speaks Italian so I know Italian swear words) as he angrily walked back into the restaurant. Avoid this restaurant, but if you do choose to eat here only do so if you meet the wood...
Read moreThe waiters are great - I would otherwise not have given any star at all. I had truffle pasta which didn’t taste like truffle at all. After asking for truffle oil we were told that truffle oil was not available! The pasta vongole was also really bad (just tasted like pasta in butter) and the three of us eating there all felt bad after dinner and went home with a stomack ache. The waiters apologized and gave us Panna Cotta for free which was a nice gesture but should have come from the boss whom we also talked to. He didn’t care at all and seemed to be annoyed. I never ever talked to the boss of a restaurant before because of the quality of a meal and this is the first review I ever write in my life but it was super disappointing to pay that much money for such...
