Hotel Riviera — Hotel in Varazze

Booked by booking.com half hour before arrival without normal "drive by" to check - big mistake||middle of town amongst blocks of flats - parking on public car park next to hotel. reception handed tv and air con controls for both rooms confirming my fears of what was to come. taken outside to an entrance and up 2 steps and shown my room. room smelt musty or smoky- didn't like to open window as didn't like area. Thirsty we went back to open bar next to reception to be told she was on her own and couldn't give us a drink! desperate we walked out into the dark night looking for somewhere for a drink only to be met by a group of suspect youths so returned.||I politely requested could we not at least have a couple of bottles of water- this time she obliged!||Deciding to sleep in my clothes says it all and putting a shower off until next place of stay with the finale being the air con packing up - reception night staff couldn't or wouldn't understand phone call and hung up on me! Breakfast was pretty much zero- coffee undrinkable and stale bread. horrendous and not a cheap deal....

If you have our luck and end up with a room on the first floor please note that there is no elevator. The attitude of the owner...oh well...very arrogant I might say. As regards the food at the hotel: poor breakfast and no replenishment if you decide to have breakfast after a herd of animals!! The quality of the food during dinner is just mediocre as the breakfast food. We had an antipasto buffet before dinner and a 'well-mannered' waiter, Alexander, cleaned the rice that people dropped on the cloth and he carefully placed it back in the dish and 'politely' left it there for people to serve themselves...amazing!! He did this act infront of us let alone what he does behind closed doors..and God knows what happens in...

Ho soggiornato all'Hotel Riviera e la posizione è davvero un punto di forza: a pochi metri a piedi dal mare, comodissimo per chi vuole godersi la spiaggia senza pensieri. Anche il personale si è dimostrato molto disponibile e cordiale, sempre pronto ad aiutare con un sorriso.|La mia camera, situata al terzo piano nell'altro edificio, era ampia e dotata di ascensore, il che è sempre un plus. L'unica nota meno positiva riguardava il condizionatore, un po' datato e piuttosto rumoroso, soprattutto di notte.|La pecca maggiore, e devo dire che è la prima volta che mi capita in un hotel, riguarda il frigobar. Questo, infatti, si spegne automaticamente ogni volta che si toglie la chiave dalla camera. Capisco l'esigenza di risparmio energetico, ma in questo modo diventa di fatto inutilizzabile per chi, come me, passa la giornata fuori e vorrebbe trovare una bottiglia d'acqua fresca al rientro. Un frigobar che non è sempre acceso non è un servizio utile per il cliente.|Per quanto riguarda la colazione, l'ho trovata buona, anche se suggerirei di ampliare un po' l'offerta, sia per quanto riguarda il dolce che il salato, per soddisfare tutti i gusti.|Nel complesso, l'Hotel Riviera è una buona soluzione per la sua posizione e la cordialità dello staff, ma spero che possano rivedere la questione del frigobar per migliorare ulteriormente l'esperienza dei...
