This hotel is very close to Aizu-Wakamatsu station; the area is shabby, the building unremarkable to say the least, and to get to the town centre, delightful Nanoka-machi St., or the beautiful tourist sites like the castle or Oyakuen garden, you need to use the small tourist buses that start at the station and circulate (clockwise and anti-clockwise) all day, or the plentiful taxis. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Our room was spacious (for a Japanese business hotel), plain but very clean, with a view of distant mountains (we hadn't asked for an upper floor room with a view, but it would be worth doing so, as other rooms would face neighbouring buildings). The services of the hotel are geared to business travellers: newspaper on check-in, good quality bath items, laundromat - and a Windows pc in the room, connected to the Internet by LAN cable, which is also free to use for your own computer. Breakfast, in a small room off the lobby, is an excellent buffet, Japanese and Western, everything notably fresh. Front desk staff are pleasant and efficient, the ladies who take care of breakfast cheerful and kind. We expected this hotel to be just a cheap place to sleep after a long trip, but ended up feeling comfortable there and...

Read moreThe hotel is just next to the train station so it is most convenient hotel in Aizu-wakamatsu. The room was compact but still it had a small wardrobe space for clothes hanger and they had a wall mounted trouser press. A good feature of their room was the individual temperature control that was effective to maintain desired temperature level. The restaurant at ground floor is quite well managed by courteous team. The front desk team members were able to communicate in English. One point to note is that if you utilize their laundry service, you might have to settle the bill separately by local cash. It seems that they could not add laundry charges in the hotel's bill. Of course, Alpha One will be the first choice of hotel when visiting again. Well done by the efficient team of...
