TL;DR Stunning and spacious rooms with excellent view of Mount Aso. Great location (next to JR aso) but far from restaurants so you need to be really organised or rent a car like we did. Plenty of parking which made it easy. Free coffee but it tastes really bad 😰.

Staff were lovely and helpful so no complaints there. I would stay again purely because of their great hospitality.

Facilities: There is a lounge with a coffee machine, microwave and miso soup in packets. It’s a nice place to eat your take away or bring your laptop to work. My only gripe was the coffee was absolutely horrible (I am not a coffee snob by any means) and there was no option for milk, not even UHT milk. For a higher priced hotel this is pretty poor, especially considering the lack of restaurants/cafes around. My only recommendation would be for this hotel to provide in some form. Also the hot water tap is not really hot more like lukewarm. So if you try to make instant noodles you might need to use the kettle in your room.

Rooms: Beautifully designed and decorated. So spacious! Comfy beds and pillows. Clean toilets and showers. Beware shampoo and conditioner is combined so bring your own conditioner if you...

Delighted I made the choice to stay here even if it was a quick 24 hours in Aso.||The location could not be better, literally being at Aso Station, and if you are driving they have plenty of parking on site as well.||The hotel itself is quite new, reflected in the modern rooms, with comfortable king bedding, great pillows and bedside fittings for charging and turning off lights and more.||The King Rooms are a great size as well so no issues for two people and luggage here. ||This was one of my best sleeps during my trip to Japan.||The bathroom set up may not be for everyone as it's part of the bedroom, although there is a sliding door for privacy.||Being a basic three star hotel there is no restaurant on site, but they do sell some snacks and drinks, although with the Lawson a short walk away that might be the best bet.||I did appreciate the free coffee from the machines in the morning on offer and they do offer microwaves (handy for Lawson bento boxes) also free to use.||Service is friendly, but keep in mind being a limited service hotel and keeping in mind there's restaurant or dining on site there's no room service etc. ||This is the perfect base to explore Aso...

Delighted I made the choice to stay here even if it was a quick 24 hours in Aso.

The location could not be better, literally being at Aso Station, and if you are driving they have plenty of parking on site as well.

The hotel itself is quite new, reflected in the modern rooms, with comfortable king bedding, great pillows and bedside fittings for charging and turning off lights and more.

The King Rooms are a great size as well so no issues for two people and luggage here.

This was one of my best sleeps during my trip to Japan.

The bathroom set up may not be for everyone as it's part of the bedroom, although there is a sliding door for privacy.

Being a basic three star hotel there is no restaurant on site, but they do sell some snacks and drinks, although with the Lawson a short walk away that might be the best bet.

I did appreciate the free coffee from the machines in the morning on offer and they do offer microwaves (handy for Lawson bento boxes) also free to use.

Service is friendly, but keep in mind being a limited service hotel and keeping in mind there's restaurant or dining on site there's no room service etc.

This is the perfect base to explore Aso...

First time staying in a Marriott in Japan. I am generally impressed as it was able to maintain the standards. Hotel parking is complimentary. Smooth check in process. An infomation desk with leaflets introducing nearby restaurants and attractions is found in lobby. A small market place is also available for guests to buy snacks and drinks. Free coffee corner equipped with microwave is in the lounge area. Room is quiet, spacious and clean at first sight. Comfy beddings. Amenities includes 2 bottled water, slippers, a kettle, a mini-fridge and a hairdryer. Water from both tap and shower is strong and hot enough. Wifi is complimentary and stable. Air conditioning was a bit weird as it suddenly stops in the middle of the night, making the room very stuffy at one point. It only starts working again when I adjust it to an even lower temperature. There is no restaurants available at the hotel so you must dine outside. Be reminded that restaurants nearby close quite early, most of them are closed even before night time. Front desk staff were very helpful when we tried booking a helicopter tour. We thanked them for their good service.

We came by car and there are plenty of parking spaces in front and behind the hotel (hotel car park). The train station is also directly opposite the hotel, like a 2 minhte walk. The hotel has a mini shop (as in , a fridge and a few short shelves) for you to buy some snacks and drinks. They have a large lounge area with oven/microwave, hot water, instant miso soup and coffee, etc, for free. Utensils are available. Through the lounge, you can go outside, and there's a path that leads you out to the back of the hotel to go out. Rooms are large and new. Amneties are provided in the room, though a bit limited. Their shampoo and conditioner are a 2 in 1, no facial products, and i dont remember if they provided cotton pads either. They do provide toothrbush and shaver. Slippers are also available. USB charging available but i dont remember their being a charging cable with multi ports being provided, unlike most other hotels do in their rooms. But you might be able to ask them for one.
