I recently stayed at this charming old-fashioned Japanese-style hot spring hotel, and it was quite a unique experience. The room was spacious and decorated in traditional Japanese style, which added to the authentic ambiance. However, there were visible signs of wear and some minor damage in the room. Being an older establishment, the sockets were not multi-type, and there were no USB Type A or C ports, which might be inconvenient for modern travelers.
The hotel offers two public baths that stay open until midnight, providing a relaxing way to unwind. For those who value privacy, there’s a bathtub in the room as well. I suspect the hot water in the room is sourced from the hot spring, as I could smell sulfur while it was running. This distinctive aroma, reminiscent of eggs, might appeal to some but could take getting used to for others.
The Japanese-style breakfast served was a delightful set meal, providing a taste of local culinary traditions. Overall, this hotel is a lovely option for those seeking a traditional experience, but be prepared for some quirks that come with its...
Read moreThere were great points to appraise. 1 Almost employees of staff in charge of each guest rooms were friendly, honest, sincere and humble; they made us happy Whenever they received us at a room, brought dinner to our room, set FUTON mats after dinner, they showed us warm smiling appearances, they made us happy. 2 Temperature of water from a hot spring well was adequately good, not hot, not lukewarm, and the water was abundant. It was incredible that the water supplied to a bath tub and a washing basin in each guest room was the hot spring water. 3 Any foods we ate at dinner and breakfast were all excellent, we didn’t find any remnants of MSG.
I don’t think any hotels can provide those services at the price of this hotel. Exactly value for money.
Of course no one can be perfect. There were some points to be improved, or looked cheap. 1 The room air conditioner was noisy all night. 2 Smell of grilling meat at another guest room easily intruded to our room; it was bad. 3 Furniture and facilities were out of days, and damaged a little.
Anyway, I recommend this hotel to stay for a...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here one night as part of our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time! We were greeted at the entrance with our family name on the welcome sign. The meal was served in our room and was delicious. The Japanese-style room was comfortably appointed, with the lovely smell of tatami! There is a private family bath you can rent, highly recommended! The regular women's bath upstairs was ok, but the bath area had some mildew and tiles in disrepair. Nice view, though. The basement bath with the stones was very enjoyable! We tried all three baths, and I definitely left with my skin feeling silky smooth. The building is dated, as evidenced by the furniture and decor, but I liked the 'Showa-retro' ambience. Not sure the staff speaks English, so it’s helpful to know some Japanese. Nice, slightly off the beaten-track, location. I would...
