Great experience. We stayed for two nights. The private bath with Mount Fuji views was luxurious. They also had the most comfortable soft beds and pillows. Sitting on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee overlooking the lake and mountains was delightful. Fuji-san made an appearance both days, so we felt very lucky.
There are no food options in the restaurant and you are served whatever they are making that day. It wasn’t a seasonal menu, just a large Japanese hot pot in the evening, and rice and fish in the morning. That was fine for my family but could imagine it being a problem for others. The staff are a bit awkward but seemed to be trying their best and were very kind.
It seems like a local dispute over trees is what is tanking their reviews here on Google. The drama is hard to piece together, but don’t let it deter you from staying here.
Overall, the hotel felt like a hidden gem and I enjoyed being away from the overcrowded side of the lake where most of the other hotels are. Parking at the hotel was free and always available. It was a short drive or bike ride to all the fun activities...

Room was spacious and comes with a huge bed. Staff went through all the necessary with us and told us that the room was stocked with 2 days worth of toiletries since we were staying for 3D2N.
Ice was available at the lobby bar and we asked for a hand held steamer which was promptly delivered to us even late at night.
Staff also warned us of the bugs since it’s summer period and told us to keep the doors closed if we’re not using the private onsen at our balcony.
Only down side is that it’s up a narrow road with no signage, so it’ll be easy to miss if you’re driving back at night.
View from the room was great and surrounding felt...
Read moreI had a wonderful stay at Kumonoue Fuji Hotel. The view of Mount Fuji from my room’s open-air bath was truly breathtaking, and the room itself was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were kind, attentive, and always willing to help, which made me feel very welcome.
The dinner and breakfast were delicious, beautifully presented, and a perfect way to experience Japanese cuisine. I also appreciated the peaceful location. It’s a quiet retreat away from the busy areas, although the uphill road can be a bit steep, so the free shuttle service was very convenient.
Overall, this hotel offers an unforgettable stay with amazing service, excellent food, and stunning views. I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting...
