This was the first restaurant in Japan that I felt was truly trying to take advantage of tourists. I would maybe expect that from countries in Southeast Asia but certainly not Japan. First red flag: there is a separate menu for tourists - why? This indicates to me that they are charging different prices for tourists. Second red flag was the only reason my girlfriend and I wanted to come here was for a roasted sweet potato. There is a large sign right outside the restaurant advertising sweet potatoes for 500 yen as if it's a popular takeaway option. So we approached the hostess and told her we would like one, she told us to wait 15 minutes as the potatoes were baking, so we did. 15 minutes pass and we go inside, again explaining we wanted a sweet potato and only a sweet potato. Juicy, tender, and absolutely delicious.
For anyone who prefers something a bit more European, I highly recommend the Wagyu beef stew — it’s rich, tender, and incredibly comforting.
The staff were also very kind and welcoming. We arrived late and were the last guests, yet everything still felt clean, relaxed, and inviting. I’d absolutely...
