Extremely disappointed with the service here.
I was highly looking forward to eating here as many of my own friends had recommended this place, but upon arrival, it took a good minute before anyone even noticed me, and the reception wasn’t the warm reception that I am used to at almost every other places I’ve been to in Japan.
I chose the 18,000 yen Shabu-shabu course, and food was promptly served. Food-wise, everything was going well, until I started to eat the vegetables. Then, I bit into something hard, and it could not be chewed. For the first time in my 15 years visiting Japan, I had encountered foreign matter in my food, and in this case, it was a piece of plastic, which mostly likely came from a food packaging. I instantly took a video and some photos and highlighted it to a staff, who looked to be a part-timer. She apologised many times and took the piece of plastic away, and then came who I assume to be the manager, who apologised like twice and then quickly left the room. No asking if I was okay, no offer to change the meal or even replace the vegetables, etc. No proactiveness to handle and rectify the situation. I’ve had better proactive and friendlier service at B-grade gourmet mom-and-pop shops and convenience stores. Is it because I am a foreigner, despite communicating in Japanese the entire time?
Afterwards, not a single mention of the plastic was made until payment time at the cashier, for which the lady whom I presume to be the manager simply one more time, but to me, the damage was already done.
This is the first time I’ve ever been disappointed in Japan, and I would advise against others to visit this place if you want to eat Hida Beef. Strongly not recommended. Highly...

三人用餐,有事前訂位,也建議事前訂位,當天幾乎滿席。一人一定要點一份套餐,且晚餐時段同桌用餐只能點同一種烹調方式(燒烤、壽喜燒、涮涮鍋)、同一價位的套餐,店員說只有午餐時段可以同桌點不同套餐。當晚我們三人點了一人9800日幣的飛驒牛涮涮鍋套餐。
套餐包含前菜、赤身、握壽司、涮肉片與涮鍋、麵(寬麵、細麵)、白飯、漬物、味噌湯、甜點。
赤身、壽司的肉非常好,非常細緻且完全沒有纖維感,完全感受不到任何肉的肌理紋路。我能想到最貼切的形容赤身與握壽司的飛驒牛肉質與口感的說法:一口咬下冰箱拿出退冰幾分鐘的的厚切片奶油(butter),軟卻實,奶香四溢卻不油膩。此外,赤身與握壽司提供的醬油是不一樣的。赤身盤中有香油牛肚。
涮涮鍋的肉片油花非常漂亮,分布均勻、美如一幅畫。涮肉片品質自然不如赤身與握壽司,但還是相當有水準,滑嫩柔軟,奶香四溢。附上沾醬兩種,包括和風柚子醋醬以及胡麻醬。前者相對清爽,酸味偏嗆,也有點鹹,需適量沾取。胡麻醬滋味溫潤,但相對油膩,比較不耐吃。
套餐可從兩種麵條中做選擇,包括寬扁麵(烏龍)與細麵(拉麵)。烏龍寬麵配溫泉蛋,蛋的品質非常好,蛋黃顏色是很深濃的血橙橘。拉麵則是配上溫熱的高湯。
菜盤包括:兩種蔬菜、四種菇(香菇、金針菇、杏鮑菇、舞菇)、大蔥、豆腐、冬粉、紅蘿蔔。菜盤組成品質都不錯,但沒有特別之處;香菇很肥厚,口感飽實。涮過肉片的湯頭滾著蔬菜,使蔬菜裹上了油脂帶來的奶香味。
針對食物本身是相當優質的體驗,食材的水準都很高。但是當天用餐狀況很多,包括上菜過程很沒秩序,送餐速度完全沒有配合客人的用餐步調,在還沒吃完前菜就一直猛上菜,赤身、握壽司一直上,整個桌面亂七八糟的。除此之外,涮涮鍋菜盤裡面蟲,服務員端小菜又大打翻⋯⋯整個用餐過程都是一片混亂。然而,儘管如此,我仍然會選擇給這間餐廳四顆星,因為餐點(特別是牛肉的品質)的表現真的在水準之上。
