Read morebefore traveling, I'm just looking for a place to spent the night ||(my route is Tokyo - Kawaguchiko - hakone and back to tokyo)|| so i have to stop by at Gotenba for a night - just a nice, clean hotel not too far from station is ok.||Hotel Kunimi Gotenba got my attention because of the price (around 8K for double room with ensuit bathroom) - i plan an immediate trip so it's hard to find a nice and good price hotel all in one so i didn't expect much.||But i turned out to be the best decision. ||the hotel is just 5-10 mins walk from the station with a very big sign that you won't missed.||next to the express way ||the room is on a big size for japanese hotel standard and a 2 bottles of complimentary water (which it's too bad that i just discovered it in the refrigerator in the morning before checking out T__T) ||a wonderful staff - give me a map for a nearby area that have all info about good restaurant around||and it's have a Onsen on the ground floor (free of charge for a hotel guest) ||and the full option breakfast with bread, rice, salmon teriyaki, soup, juice, salad, fried vegetable etc, ||wifi only available in the lobby but with a good strong signal||||the only downside of the hotel is staff doesn't efficiently in English so when i ask for a delivery service (Kuroneko - the black cat) he cannot help or give me any advice. ||and the other thing, i booked for a non-smoking room but in the morning i can smell the cigarette strongly (not sure is from the air system or someone smoking on the corridor so i guess they don't have a non-smoking floor or the...
We stayed here after climbing Fujisan as a transit to airport for the next day. My first time staying in these Japanese style little hotel. Location is reasonably convenient as about 10 mins walk from Gotemba station, some restaurants nearby. ||It was a new experience for me as the little room is like a cubicle but we have our own bath. They have public laundry room which you could do your laundry and public bath (which I haven't visited in both but my friends did who commented that's nice). A lot of businessmen staying here and very interesting to see the vending machine selling even meals, beers & drinks if you're arriving late. They serve free rice balls and miso soup as supper for travellers who miss maybe dinner. ||Breakfast was good with freshly baked danish, croissants as well as Japanese options. Not sure how's room for sharing as my single room is small which may not be too good if you share room with both luggage. Good...
Read moreNice, clean Hotel, run by friendly people, only a 5 minute walk from Gotenba station.||The single room was small but big enough to actually open an average sized suitcase and leave it on the floor, rather than having to open, close and store it every time one needs something. There was a TV, a small desk, a tiny wardrobe, a fridge and a kettle. The bathroom was one of the typical moulded one-piece bathrooms with an ‘electronic’ loo with several functions…||Room, bathroom and every item in the room were squeaky clean. A big bonus was the Japanese bath (one each for men and women) on the ground level. It had an almost swimming pool sized (I am only slightly exaggerating.) soaking pool. Very nice & so relaxing!||One can get drinks and snacks from the vending machines in the hotel. Breakfast was good with some western options, dinner nice, the people working in the restaurant (and at reception) friendly, which makes a stay so much...
