富士御殿場コンドミニアムTannpopo — Hotel in Gotenba

We stayed here for 2 nights and we only wish we could have stayed longer! This is a lovely place to stay in; the apartment is clean, spacious and well-equipped. Location-wise is perfect; it is just 5-7 mins walk from the Gotemba train station. From the train station, you can catch the free shuttle bus to the Gotemba Premium Outlet which leaves every 15 mins every hour. There is also a nice halal Indian restaurant downstairs in the same apartment building - we had our dinner delivered straight to the apartment.||On a good cloudless day, you get amazing, unobstructed views of the majestic Mount Fuji from the windows - literally as advertised and as shown in their photos. While the apartment and its decor may be a little dated, it just adds to the Japanese charm of the place. Everything was functioning well (wifi, heater, shower, hot water, microwave, stove, toilet etc) - we had no complaints. The room we stayed in had 2 single beds and another room with a tatami area and extra futon - plenty of space and yet felt very cozy. Check-out time is early at 10 am but you can store your luggage with the housekeeper on the 4th floor for 500 yen per luggage. We found this useful as we had plans to explore Gotemba some more on our final day without having to drag our luggage around!||The hosts, Hurry and Masako, are very nice and have clearly put a lot of effort into making the place a lovely home away from home. They were very responsive to emails/calls and Masako greeted us both upon our arrival and departure. Overall, without a doubt, I would definitely stay here again...

We chose Fuji Gotemba Condominium Tannpopo because dogs are allowed to stay here. However, I would recommend it for anyone, dog or no dog! (Dog fee is 2,000 yen extra per night)||||The apartment was spotlessly clean. It is spacious and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen area and a great view of Mt. Fuji (when the weather cooperates, which it did, three out of the four days we were there). ||||The weather was cold (early February) but the heaters work well and we were comfortable at all times. ||||The location is super-convenient, just a few minutes walk from Gotemba Station. We arrived by train from Tokyo, and took the bus to see Lake Ashi and the attractions in that beautiful area. Very convenient, a pretty 40-minutes ride. Buses also run to the Fifth Station on Mt. Fuji, the Premium Outlet Center, and other area sites. ||||There are convenience stores and supermarkets within easy walking distance of the apartment. A huge bonus for us was the Indian restaurant in the same building! Gotemba India has great vegetarian options, prices are reasonable and quality high. It is not all vegetarian but that's all we had there. The neighborhood has many other restaurants and bars. ||||Apartment owner and manager, Hurry Yamamoto was kind and responsive at all times. She met us at the train station to escort us to the building and answered questions quickly.||||I should probably mention that my aging back wasn't too happy with the futons. But the futons are not to blame! ||||We highly recommend Tannpopo...
