Hotel Sekisuien was a lovely experience! The hotel staff was very kind and accomodating, and tried very hard to communicate with us when we asked questions/for help/service. The hotel is in the midway up the mountain! It is easy to walk down... but a bit of a challenge to walk up! There is a shuttle bus to and from the station/castle plaza, thankfully. Please contact the hotel ahead of time to set a timing for the shuttle bus to pick you up. Aside from that, the hotel also provides for a shuttle bus to pick guests up from the castle plaza every day, but only upon request at 3pm, 4pm, 5pm or 6pm. Book your timing at the front desk if you would like the shuttle bus to pick you up (and avoid the walk up half of the mountain)! The hotel doors close and lock at 12am every night, so be back before that or inform the front desk that you will be back late so they can unlock the front door for you. The rooms are very lovely, clean and comfortable! We had a room that faced the mountain, and it was very nice and scenic. The dinner service is very delicious- it is served in courses at the hotel restaurant, and they will serve you different dishes each day if you order the dinner for multiple nights. It is also a convenient option for those who take the last 6pm shuttle back to the hotel and want their dinner after that. KIV that the hotel is in the middle of the mountains and there are no other restaurants/eateries around- you need to go down to the town at the bottom of the mountain to have your meals there otherwise. No hot springs! Also, the swimming pool was closed when...
Read moreProbably the best hotel in Gujo Hachiman and located uphill on the way to the Gujo Hachiman Castle. Guji Hachiman is a small town. But the town produced a majority of Japan’s wax food replica for restaurants. Walking to the town centre from the hotel is about 10 minutes downhill. But walking back is a uphill journey.||The hotel is basically quiet, as well as the town itself. Check in staff was not all experienced so have to be patient. There is free drinks available at the lobby. Our room is a nice room, spacious and with an outdoor bathtub/onsen. The view from balcony overlooking the city is a nice view. The room itself is new, or recently renovated. Toilet and bathroom is spacious. There is also a separate sitting area of sofa.||Complimentary drinks are available to hotel guests at the lobby. Dinner and breakfast is served in the restaurant. The food was ok, though not particularly impressive. It is a nice hotel if you want to spend sometime in the tiny city for a...
Read moreIt was my first time visiting Japan and I highly recommend this hotel if you want to experience some modern but also traditional Japanese cuisine and culture of Gujo! I choose a quite spacious room and for it scenery! And also getting out of the already bustling big cities and getting some peaceful environment.
They are very helpful if you take your time to explain to destination you want to go to and also if you go out of your way to ask for help for guidance with transportation they will help you out with transportation path/route to! I have never had such a service and experience.
Once again thanks for the help to the staff's of sekisuien, from the people that cooked the food to the service bus members and the cleaners and the desk!!! ❤️
I will definitely come back again in the future with...
