很舒服,楼层层高很大,所以有些凉,开一阵空调就好。顶层有厨房。HakoBA, the share hotel, as its name implies, was once Hakodate branch of a bank. The ancient building was the ex-bank part, where we stayed, had two floors of guest rooms. The adjacent building, dock part, had two levels of guest rooms and two levels of public space. The handsome young receptionist was modest and spoke English well, making me feel Hakodate a more international city. He told us that our room was at a historic building, thus no evaluators. The carpet was as gorgeous as a luxurious office. We stepped upward via the wooden staircase. The room was typical in size but as twice high as a standard room. The long blue velvet curtain was flowing down straight to the floor, spreading the smell of royal coldness. As a result, it took the air conditioner longer to warm the room. Sitting on the bed, I pulled the curtain and glimpsed outside, the orange street lamps and snow surface moved me. It's like in a dream every time pulling aside the curtain to see the scenery of the quiet street, first in the dark and then in the dawn. I got up early and went to the top floor of the deck building. I entered the shared kitchen and opened the door in it, and found the rooftop terrace. The wind ran inside hard. I stepped on the thick snow and had a great view of the harbour. The dark blue sea was only yards away. Before setting off, I brought Diane there to feel the magnificent view, the lovely dark blue sea and the blowing hair upwards sea wind. After saving out luggage in the reception counter, we submitted online questionnaires in exchange to brooches with Hakoba sign. I picked one with sakura patterns, and Diane picked a blue one. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace again for the last time. I miss that...
Read moreThis is hotel used to be a bank beautifully revamped into a stylish accommodation. The aesthetics and vibe of this hotel is super trendy and minimilastic which gives you that traditional Japanese zen feels paired up with modern facilities to balance.
We checked-in late at night, the staff was a breeze and spoke good English. It was golden week and they gave us free drinks-which their cool bartenders were happy to provide us.
We stayed in the Junior Suite and the room was substantial in size- for Japanese standards. The artwork in the room added elegance and blended well with the dark and deep design of the hotel. Also, I have to mention the bathroom was immaculate and sparkling clean. The bathtub and shower are separate which is a rarity in Japan. Oh i would book it again just to take a dip in that tub again.
The only thing I had a problem with was that the wifi in one of the bedooms were non-existent. A wifi-repeater, however, could solve this tiny issue.
Finally, if you're looking for the perfect location to visit Hakodate, this hotel is perfect. Just in front of the hotel is beautiful bay and a small uphill walk will lead you to the famous churches, photogenic slopes, and historic monuments like the Old Public Hall. Everything you need is here and the famous lucky pierrot is like 20 steps from the door.
Overall: Highly...
Read moreWhat an amazing hotel HakoBA Hakodate is. It is located in the old Fuji Bank building which gives it a unique character. They have done an amazing job updating the interior making it look modern yet still letting the character of the building shine through, awesome!|Staff at reception were super friendly and helped us with lots of recommendations, like food and drink, and helped us with the public transport 1-day pass which you can buy here. There's also a cool little shop in the reception area selling local gifts. |The room was really nice and we were lucky they gave us a room on the top floor which meant the room had really high ceilings and amazing details on the ceiling. Bathroom was pretty large, very modern and clean. |Location wise this hotel is perfect. It is a 20 minute walk from the station but well connected to other public transport like buses and the city tram system. Located in the middle of the redbrick warehouse area of Hakodate there's plenty of shopping and restaurants around. Ideal for exploring this amazing city.|Highly recommend...
