Business ryokan Harada — Hotel in Hiroshima

After I screwed up my first attempt at booking a cheap place in Hiroshima, my son found my this one for me. It was a last minute booking, I got the last room and was grateful. It was just a few blocks from the Peace Park, easy to get to on a single tram ride from the train station and best of all, it was cheap and had lots of extras. I arrived before 9 am, they stored my luggage and showed me how to get to the Genbaku Dome. I explored all day, came back to a spotless room in a quiet ryokan. There was a yukata (lightweight robe), slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, soap, hot plate and green tea, flat screen tv and ashtrays, Yep, it was a smoking room. My only complaint. I survived but will remember in future that in Japan, a non-smoking room is not to be assumed, it is a special request. On the upside, it had its own private western toilet and tub with shower. I was expecting to traipse down the hall so this was a real treat. The building also has an onsen, which I forgot to try. That is a shame as soaking in a naked hottub is one of life's great pleasures. There is a laundry room which I wasn't there long enough to need. Free internet, including use of a computer, was available in the lobby. If you wanted breakfast it was possible for less than 700 yen for a Japanese breakfast but I had an early start so was out the door before they started serving. Staff was super-friendly. The ones I interacted with didn't speak English but they had an iPad mini with a translation program so we just spoke into that and read each other's answers. It worked tickedy-boo. I didn't see any signs out front in English, so make sure you use my picture (or read Japanese) when you go looking for this place. And remember, addresses in Japan do not follow a system that will make sense for you, so I suggest photographing your surroundings with your cell phone so that you have landmarks to help you find it again. Don't worry about asking locals for directions, that's how they find things too. If you are a 5 star Hilton tourist then this won't be your kind of place, but if you are an budget traveller who likes to go where the locals go, I recommend this...

出張とワーケーションを兼ねて一週間ほど利用させていただきました。広島の観光スポットまで徒歩圏内ですし、ご家族経営されているスタッフの方々のホスピタリティに癒されまくりました。

事前にワーケーションでの利用をお伝えすると、部屋に机と椅子を新しく用意してくれました！Wi-Fiも全く問題なし。感謝！

ご飯は朝も夜もいつも美味しいしいつも満腹。 施設は少し古くてもとても清潔にされています。 行くたびに何かが必ず改善されていて、その努力に感激します。

観光地によくある普通のビジネスホテルや高級ホテルに飽きた方、コスパよく長期滞在されたい方、本当の広島の地元の方と交流したい方に超おすすめです。

コロナでお客様が減り大変苦労されていると思いますが、こんな素敵な宿であればこれから必ずまたお客様は戻ってきますよ！

2023/5月再来

今回もワーケーションで3泊4日しました。 G7後ということもあり、昨年と比べて広島自体が一段と綺麗で過ごしやすくなっている気がしました。素敵なお店も増えていて観光客もかなり戻ってきています。

そしてお宿の方もパワーアップしてますね。とても綺麗ですし、静かで仕事をするのになんの不自由もなかったです。 平和公園も原爆ドームも徒歩数分圏内で、仕事終わりのランニングがとても充実しました。もし時間あれば折り鶴タワーのルーフトップバーはおすすめです。

ご飯が相変わらず美味しくて、特に毎日魚屋から直送されるお刺身や鯛の煮付けは凄かったあ。これ東京で出したらとんでもない価格になりそう...

部屋:和室又は洋室 風呂トイレ冷蔵庫共用(大浴場あり) 洗濯機200円乾燥機100円(8分) 2階共用スペースに喫煙室、漫画、マッサージチェアあり

仕事で1週間ほどお世話になりました。部屋にトイレとお風呂が付いていませんが、共用のトイレは綺麗にリフォームされており、温水洗浄便座付きで、特に気にならないと思います。

風呂も大きな大浴場になっており、てっきり古くて汚いものでないかと思ってましたが、良い意味で期待を裏切られるほど清掃が行き届いており、のんびりくつろげました。

また、特筆したいのはフロントのお兄さんの対応で、「現場に朝早く行かないといけないので朝食をパック詰めしてもらえないか」という要望も2つ返事で承諾してくださり、大変安心感がありました。食事も美味しく、手作り感のあるものばかりで嬉しくなるような食事でした。

立地の良さはもちろん、レンタサイクルやアメニティバー、漫画スペースに観光客向けのパンフレットも完備されており、とにかく旅館全体としてもてなしの姿勢が感じられる、いいお宿でした。価格もお手ごろなので、公私共にオススメです。
