36hostel — Hotel in Hiroshima

My favorite hostel so far. So cozy, so chic, so modern and seems like a very new hostel. Everything was so clean, the staff are very nice and polite. The location is fantastic. It is walking distance to the Tram station, which makes moving around town very convenient. There are convenience store nearby. It’s also walking distance to the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park. Also very close to Hondori Street where you find all the shops, restaurants and shopping center. The only thing about this hostel is that the lights in dorms are motion sensor so if someone come back late at night or even if someone turn a bit to abrupt in their bed especially the top bunk, the lights will turn on. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful environment while staying in Hiroshima, this is the place for you. The location is very near to the Peace Park, maybe just a quick 5 minute walk. There are all female dorms available, perfect for solo female travelers. The common area is great for digital nomads looking to get some work done or for those just wishing to relax and unwind after a long day out sightseeing. The beds are very spacious and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and even let me check in early. If you're hungry in the morning or tired in the evening, I HIGHLY recommend the cafe next door called Coffee and Books. It's owned by the same couple and there are discounts for hostel guests. We accidentally reserved beds in the female dormitory, and upon arrival, your receptionist informed us that this would not be possible. She then offered an alternative hostel on the other side of the city.

We asked if we could cancel the original booking without charge, and she clearly told us that cancellation would be free. Based on this information, we booked another accommodation. However, we have now been informed that we will still be charged, which we believe is unfair given the situation.

If we had known the cancellation would not be free, we would have stayed at the alternative hostel offered.

After multiple times kindly asking that you honor the receptionist’s statement and issue a refund for this booking. They refused to do so and caused us having double bookings...
