We really enjoyed our stay. The room was large and clean - it felt like a home away from home with comfortable beds, nice furnishings and art, and nice touches like local tea bags. It was convenient to have a coin laundry machine on the ground floor. It’s worth noting that Lian is more like a seviced apartment with ~8 rooms rather than a hotel. Staff are not on-site all the time, generally just when guests check in or out. They contacted us about our approximate arrival time and someone was there to welcome us, and someone was also there when we checked out - each staff member was helpful and friendly. Staff are contactable by WhatsApp and were responsive when we had questions. The welcome documents included QR codes that link to Lian’s breakfast and dinner recommendations in the area. The staff received our luggage forwarded from our previous location, and the staff member who did our check-out kindly helped us with forwarding our luggage to our next destination. We were happy with everything we needed, but if you are looking for a full service hotel with staff always on-site, this is not the accommodation for you. It is close to a supermarket (Marue Hikosoten), nice bakeries (Hippo and Watanabeya), a department store (M’ZA) and Omicho Market. It is about 30 minutes walk to the art museum district and the more modern part of town down south. The furnishings and beds are so comfortable and the space is littered with interesting little artworks. The wetroom and toilet are a delight....
