Stayed at Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi for 1 night on October 8. This place definitely deserves a solid 5 stars! Will stay here again if I visit Kanazawa again in the future!
This is definitely one of my favorite accommodation places during my 22 days in Japan (stayed at 11 different accommodation places).
The staffs’ hospitality blew our mind the moment we entered. Instead of standing in front of the counter, we were asked to take a seat at the lobby table, and the staff came to help us check in while we were seated comfortably. During the check in process, we were also served free delicious warm dango (dango only served during checked in).
We went earlier than the check in time (check in was after 3pm) to drop down our luggages. I was amazed that they brought the luggages to our rooms when we went back to the hotel during the check in time.
Amenities were great! Free drinks, free check in dango and late night udon! The pajama provided was very comfortable to sleep in. Bedding and everything else were also very comfortable!
They didn’t have laundry service onsite but they informed us a nearby coin laundry location (we didn’t need to do laundry and didn’t go check out this coin laundry place).
Location was great! About 10 min straight forward walk from Kanazawa Shinkansen station and very close to Omicho market. There was also lot of great restaurants nearby!
The interior decorations and design of the hotel were also amazing!
It’s so convenient that all the staffs could speak English, maybe because of that, we had more interaction with the staffs and also received great recommendation (breakfast recommendation at Kanazawa station, the onigiri place turned out to be one of our favorite onigiri during our whole Japan trip)!
Price is not cheap but definitely worth it.

Read moreThis a wonderful hotel, from the staff, design, service, and comfort. It is new and centrally located just a 10-minute walk from Kanazawa Station, and a few minutes walk away from the hub that is Omicho Market.
The owner and his staff are unfailingly friendly and gracious, and the hospitality begins the moment you arrive, when you’re invited to take a few minutes to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and a small sweet snack (a stick of dango).
The inclusions in the room rate are numerous: drinks in the in-room minibar are free and replenished daily; guests are invited to help themselves any time to hot or cold tea, water, juices and an espresso machine for fresh coffee/americanos in the lobby; and the hotel offers udon in soup every evening in the lobby from 20:00-21:30 (again, for free).
Breakfast wasn’t included in our rate (via Travelocity), but was well worth the extra ¥1500 each per day, for a delicious traditional breakfast spread served on a tray per person.
The owner/manager is rightly proud of the design of the public spaces and the rooms themselves: beautiful custom carpentry / millwork is everywhere and the warmth of the natural wood completes the aesthetic and feel of restful, simple beauty.
We had a Superior Twin room, with extremely comfortable beds, duvets and pillows. The TV has Netflix and YouTube, if you are so inclined, and the bathroom has a split toilet room and vanity, as well as a huge wet room with a powerful rainfall shower beside a deep soaking bathtub with headrest. Wow.
Very highly and gratefully...
Read moreI loved this place. After experiencing five different hotels during our two week stay in Japan this was the best hotel we stayed at.
The room was spacious, with enough room to lay out two large suitcases. We had two beds with soft comforters.
All of the appliances had easy to follow laminate cards.
The bathroom was my favorite part of the hotel. It was clean with a large bathtub and a heavenly shower head. There was also a traditional wood seat and bucket. The bathroom also had Japanese wonderful technology that could be set to dry yourself after a shower or dry your clothes. My only negative experience would be that the head rest for the tube would become loose and fall.
The mini fridge had three non-alcoholic and three alcoholic free drinks. There was also some additional drinks selection in the main lobby area available at any time.
When you arrive you’re offered a complimentary dango, which we didn’t have time to eat.
Also, they have free Yonaki Udon at night. Made fresh when you order, which we did have time for, and it was good.
There was a beautiful area in between the rooms and the lobby.
The location was a bit of a walk from the train station and from the Omicho Market but it wasn’t too bad. About 10-15 minutes walk.
There was also some family run business around the hotel where we got a cute tote bag.
I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place in Kanazawa to stay at. I wish we had more time to hang around the hotel but we had a...
