Ramen Mikoshi — Restaurant in Kanazawa

Picture this : golden week, 7.30pm, it’s been 1 and 1/2 hour you are walking in the streets of kanazawa trying to find a place to eat with your 3 years old kid. Been refused by 10 or 15 restaurants because it’s either fully booked or because you have a child with you (or because you don’t speak japanese). And then you come across Mikoshi. You enter, they are welcoming, and they tell you it’s ok to eat (Even you can see they are in a rush). Fresh draft beer, good music, noodles and soup with fried chicken, gyozas and edamame… the kid loved it, me and my partner too. It was a very nice moment in this very busy period. We had the shoyu ramen twice, and both were absolutely delicious. The gyoza were also excellent, and the prices overall are very reasonable - not expensive at all. The fact that not only tourists but also many locals come here to eat really speaks for the quality of this place. The staff is very friendly, and the owner speaks perfect English.

Beyond the great food, the owner even offered to help me dispose of my broken suitcase, something she absolutely didn’t have to do. That level of kindness left a lasting impression. An amazing restaurant with wonderful people - highly...

Somehow it seems like you are not welcomed here as foreigner. They do have a menu in English and can talk English pretty well but taking orders from local people first even if they arrive much later. They also seemed to be annoyed that a non-local is here..
