The great wooden Tori gate located just outside of Kanazawa Station. Its magnificent and is a contemporary version of the traditional red Tori gates one sees in Japan. In itself it’s an impressive n eye catching structure. Symbolically it has great intrinsic value- it symbolises the fact that Kanazawa is a city of Art n deep culture. It’s twin stands are made in resemblance to the drum used in traditional Japanese Noh Theatre. The Drum is a Tsuzumi and therefore this gate is aptly name Tsuzumi Mon(gate). This magnificent artistic structure definitely merits a second look and a picture or two before one moves on to explore the delights that Kanazawa has to offer.
