Stayed here for 2 nights as wedding guests, and everything was just so smooth and flawless, everybody had a lovely stay! ||||We visited during the fall in mid-November, just in time for the foliage, and it was soooooo beautiful everywhere! There's a photo-stop at every turn of the corner, and we just love strolling around after meals or whenever we get some free time! ||||The location's great, with free shuttle bus service to the JR station slash outlet, so getting around was not issue. There's also this little village right below the hotel, with a few nice shops and restaurants (they have a great place that serves the BEST soba noodles!!). ||||We had the Terrace Villa, and the rooms are exactly as advertised, white, modern, clean and cozy! The room has a good size, with a little living room area and quality amenities. We all get our individual cabins with a little patio, so great privacy as well.||||The wedding was at the Stone Church and it was simply magical. The architecture blended so well with the surroundings, the natural light gave the church a cozy feeling, and it's just a great place to celebrate a wedding!||||The food's impressive, too! The breakfast spread was one of the best I've ever had, with omelettes and fluffy pancakes, a different selection of appetizers and fruits everyday, such a great way to start the day! We had 2 dinners at the hotel as well (one Japanese one Western), service was superb and quality of the food was amazing, they paid so much attention to details and all the ingredients were seasonable, what's not to love?||||All in all, it's a perfect stay in Karuizawa and I would definitely...

Read moreThis hotel, located near some prime natural areas, is famous as a wedding destination, especially for Japanese couples. The room we stayed in was obviously intended for newly-weds, as the bed was matrimonial size, unlike most places in Japan that we stayed. The room also featured a cozy bath tub just right for a couple that wants to sit close to each other.||||We were there mainly for birding in the nearby forest, which was very nice. There are numerous trails in the area for fairly easy walking. (Some steps.)||||Like most places in Japan, western tourists are uncommon, so English is seldom heard. Some of the staff here spoke English, but having someone fluent in Japanese in our group was a big help.||||WiFi is available in the main part of the hotel, but not in the rooms. It was free without a password.||||We took breakfast in the hotel dining room, which was excellent, but opted to try some of the restaurants nearby for dinner. The hotel provides a free shuttle for the short ride.||||In addition to the forest, there is a nightly presentation and walk to see the Japanese Giant Flying Squirrels that use nest boxes on the site. This is well worth the cost, about $30 US. (Reviewed...
