What a deal! If you are comfortable taking the trains, this quiet inn tucked away between Yokohama and downtown Tokyo is the perfect spot for solo travelers to crash.
Room is bigger than anything you will find closer into Tokyo area. But even so, it’s still small but not like you’re staying in your room anyway, I didn’t care. The bed was ok a little too stiff for me, pillows were very stiff. But after long days exploring it didn’t matter much and I crashed at the end of the day.
The area is quiet, not super crowded and busy with tourists, so commuting to the hotel and out from the area was a breeze compared to staying in downtown Tokyo area.
Onsen access 24/7 comes with your room. I did not use the in room shower. If I was starting late that day I would go to the onsen to do my showering and bathing before heading out; and jumping in the onsen after a full day of running around the city or a fun night out was a perfect way to end the night.
Cleanings and breakfast didn’t come with my room package; though you can opt into that if you’d like: I personally did not need it, I saved my appetite for an amazing food spot somewhere in the city. And I was hardly in the room (and like stated previously I only bathed in the onsen) so cleaning wasn’t needed for my 3 night stay.
If I have a short stay in Tokyo I would book this again. I highly recommend for any kind of traveler (train is about 45 mins to downtown Tokyo areas, but it’s super easy just follow google maps train instructions and nap on...
Read moreThough this hotel just opened in late 2019, this was my second stay here. Loved it the first time, and had to come back again. Won't find another hotel like this elsewhere in Tokyo and vicinity.||Pros:||1) Convenient location -Keikyu train or a bus ride from Haneda Airport ||by local bus 40 minutes from airport, from int'l terminal go to bus terminal 15, from domestic flights go to bus terminal 10 and get off at Kawasaki Shicho (City Hall) mae +3 minute walk, or take the Keikyu Line to Keihin-Kawasaki Station + 7 minute walk||JR Kawasaki station (for Tokaido, Keihin-Tohoku, Nambu Lines) is close by as well. JR lines should be more convenient to get to either Tokyo or Yokohama.||2) Free access to natural hot springs on the 15th floor.||- an inexpensive way to understand what hot springs are like, before paying at least double the price for a stay in a Japanese style ryokan. If you are not ok with public bathing, there are showers in your room as well.||3) Free wifi, breakfast buffet (depending on your reservation type, it may not include breakfast, but you should be ok without it as well, since there is a seven/eleven located adjacent to the hotel on the first floor, not to mention a lot of other fast foods and cheap eats in walking distance nearby. ||4) Free half-size ramen service from 9:30pm to 11pm on the 2nd floor||5) Laundry machines on the 15th floor for longer stays- of course not free but for a...
Read moreI just raved about this Dormy Inn on Hotels.com so you can get the scoop there too, but I'm thinking--all the staff who work there, and the care & upkeep of the facility... have somehow made a "3 star" hotel a 5 star experience! I will definitely choose to stay here again over other hotels, and recommend this to friends.
You MUST get the breakfast buffet option. For ~$16USD, let's just say this was totally worth the money. I hear about complaints of how 2300yen is expensive, but anyone from any major US metro area, $16USD for THAT amount and quality of food, is a reallllly good deal. Thank me later :) Our friend opted out of the breakfast and after we saw it, we felt SO bad for him.
Between the EXCELLENT service staff, the thoughtful amenities (welcome water bottle and cute little pudding cups for each guest), a set of towels/bath clothes/slippers, the BLACK WATER ONSEN (wow!), massage chairs, free popsicles, late night homemade soba noodles, manga, outdoor patio, washing/dryer machines, after check-out luggage storage, this place was Da BoMb.
Thank you guys so much, everyone working those 2 days 10/5 into 10/6 from the front desk, cleaning staff, soba chef (she was amazing and served everyone all by herself SO quickly), the breakfast team (extremely cohesive, nothing ever ran low)...was SO professional. PLEASE reward your staff, they did such an excellent, above-and-beyond job in every role...
