0/5 stars, incredibly disappointing customer service. It’s my first time in Japan and I booked 3 nights with my girlfriend. A strong typhoon hit Japan just 3 days before we were to fly out, shutting down shinkansen (bullet trains), and cancelling flights. We attempted to cancel for a refund, but they said as long as the Shinkansen was operational on the day we booked, they wouldn’t refund us. On the day we were supposed to come in, my girlfriend’s grandmother was hospitalized, and we tried to explain the situation to customer service. They clearly did not care, and refused to refund us for the booking. We tried to change our booking to a different day, but nothing was available. After refusing to refund us, they asked for proof of hospitalization which we found to be greatly disrespectful as they had already adamantly denied refunding us anything. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere nearby so that if an emergency arises, you can get...
Read moreIf there is one thing to nitpick here, is that they give you all these amenities when you arrive at their center location and state that there wont be any in the house, but there were all of those in the house and maybe more. It felt a bit like wasted plastic to get all these individual shampoo cups just to have a big shampoo bottle in the house. HOWEVER, every other hotel we stayed had very crappy shampoo and hair cream, so I actually used the ones I got from Rinn kyoto on my other baths to give my hair proper hydration that cheap hair conditioners couldn't.

Upstairs, there are two rooms, each with two futon beds. The location in Gion is perfect.
