Small little store that sells a sweet potato version of the mont blanc dessert ice cream. I saved this place to try on my recent trip to Kyoto and it’s around a 17 minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera. It only has a few seats by the entrance and all the menu items are posted on the wall with English too! The roasted sweet potato is sold by weight so you pay after the sweet potato is paid after it’s been roasted. The sweet potato ice cream was super fun to watch and it was not overly sweet either. Although it’s small, it has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Watching them prepare their desserts is unique and fun. You prepay for the roasted sweet potatoes, and the final price is determined by weight. The cost is reasonable, and the sweet potatoes are incredibly soft, fragrant, and delicious! Read moreStopped in to have a snack while walking around Gion. We got the creme brulee sweet potato and the honey butter sweet potato. I also wanted to try the purple montblanc dessert, but it was already going to be a lot as the potatoes are filling. The creme brulee one was nice, but I enjoyed the honey butter one even more!
The shop was quiet and no one else there when we arrived. Only 2 other people came in while we sat inside to eat. Not much seating inside, just a couple of small seats...
