Everything was going smoothly until we ran into this Asian front desk lady with a katakana name on the night of August 17th. My friend speaks fluent Japanese, so we were communicating in Japanese just fine—until she saw our passports and suddenly switched to English. Excuse me? What part of our Chinese passports screams ‘We speak flawless English’? (Unfortunately, we do, but that’s not the point.)Here’s the deal: We were supposed to switch to a sea-view room that day. We’d already returned the keys to our old room and stored our luggage in the morning since the new one wasn’t ready. Everything was cool (shoutout to the other staff for being awesome) until we met this woman. She was squinting at the screen like she couldn’t see a damn thing. My friend was just spelling out her name in Chinese—not even looking at the screen—when this lady suddenly yells, ‘This is personal information!’ as if she’d been waiting for the chance to snap at someone. After what felt like an eternity of her fumbling around, she finally—somehow—finished whatever she was doing. If you stay more days, room is only made up every 3 days. They do provide toiletries that’s self service (free flow) that can be picked up from the check in counter. Toilet paper, slippers and comb is also free flow. The bath gel, shampoo and conditioner is also nice. The bathroom has a bath tub.If you are renting a car, you would need to check on the parking process more carefully as there are only 4 parking lots associated with the hotel. There is other public parking around the area that is relatively cheap but you would need to depend on luck for availability. There is a Lawson nearby so you can pickup the groceries you need from there. That’s the plus as there aren’t much other amenities around. Service will need to depend who you have on duty. As I stayed a week. We had a range of very nice service persons to ones that are not so patient as they often struggle to understand English. Thankfully there’s google...
