As a solo traveler and a female, finding a safe and comfortable place to stay is always a top priority for me. I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Hostel Caranashi in Osaka, Japan.
Safety was never a concern during my stay at Hostel Caranashi. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made sure to address any questions or concerns I had. The hostel had secure access control, providing peace of mind both day and night. I truly felt safe throughout my entire visit.
Hostel Caranashi exceeded my expectations when it came to accommodations. The rooms were well-maintained, clean, and spacious. The comfortable beds ensured a restful sleep, and the privacy curtains provided a sense of personal space. The hostel also had excellent facilities, including a cozy common area, a fully equipped kitchen, and clean bathrooms. Everything was designed with the solo traveler in mind, making it easy to meet fellow adventurers and share stories.
The staff at Hostel Caranashi truly made my stay memorable. They were warm, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. Whether it was recommending local attractions, guiding me through the city, or simply providing a friendly conversation, their hospitality went above and beyond. Their genuine care and attention to detail made me feel like a valued guest throughout my entire stay. I lost my wallet at some point during my trip and the staff immediately helped me locate it. They even called the train stations where I have been just to help me find my lost wallet. They also helped me locate and contact a clinic when I needed it.
The hostel's atmosphere was one of the highlights of my trip. It had a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The common area was an excellent place to relax, meet other travelers, and share experiences. The hostel also organized social events, creating a sense of community for solo travelers. Read moreI visited (solo travel) in mid February this year. I am really grateful and lucky to have found this place as the owner, Ken, was very kind and cool. I felt welcome! Especially because this was my first time in Japan + first time staying at a hostel. (Thank you, Ken!)
The room was cozy and smelled nice. I liked the tatami mats and beautiful interior of the room and the building. You can hear snoring next room, but that’s expected given that it’s a hostel and the building is old.
Little decos here and there were lovely. You can tell Ken pays attention to even smallest details.
In the living room area, there’s a kotatsu and a big bookshelf filled with books and comics. I enjoyed talking with Ken having a cup of hot tea and Japanese snacks. He told me about his ancestors, Mr. Murakami, and the story about them was made into one of the books in the bookshelf, which I thought was super cool.
Neighborhood is quiet and nice. I loved it. Close to train station and convenience stores. I really enjoyed seeing houses, buildings, and stores on the way to the station.
I was little tight in schedule in Kansai, so only stayed 1 night, but I would definitely want to visit again If I...
Read moreI’ve stayed in many hostels around the world, and this one is absolutely the best! The owner speaks English and is incredibly friendly.||This place feels as cozy as home, yet offers the unique experience of staying in a traditional Japanese tatami room. The bathroom facilities are fully equipped with shampoo, body wash, and conditioner, and the hairdryer is powerful.||The common area is small but cozy, with a kitchenette, a large fridge, and even free laundry facilities.||It might not be ideal for travelers with large suitcases since all the rooms are on the second floor, accessible only by stairs. However, it’s perfect for backpackers. The location is not far from the train station, and there are plenty of restaurants, izakayas, and a Lawson convenience store nearby.||If you’re looking to experience Osaka’s urban life while staying in a quieter suburban area, you shouldn’t miss this place. I especially recommend booking the three-person room with a window view (also great for two people). It gave us such wonderful...
